Yep. Oxidation and time will do it too. THC will further convert to CBN, aka sleepy time stuff. Old weed generally has higher CBN content.

I would like to make some CBD oil for a friend who is going through chemo. He really doesn't like to get high but the oil helps his nausea. Any thoughts on how I could convert my THC laden pot into CBD oil with little THC content would be appreciated.

Question for you. If I do not decarb before making some oil via the alcohol method will he still derive the benefits of the CBD's? I am trying to reduce the THC and boost the CBD and I am not sure how to do it.

Sorry, I missed this. Short answer, remediating THC is not practical at home. You need equipment that will selectively isolate certain cannabinoids. Plus if the CBD content isn't there in the first place it would be all for nothing. I can recommend a couple brands I trust if you like. Tincture or does he smoke?

No He does not smoke. I am going to try using an ounce of White Widow that is about a year old and hopefully that does it. He doesn't know I am doing this so if it fails no big deal.

it takes a lot of generations of backcrossing to get stable genetics with a new cross. the shit is not that hard, but it takes a long time

I have 2 different methods. I do outside and also have hydroponics. My hydroponics uses a 18-6 veg and a 12-12 flower. My outside is left to nature but inside the safety of a greenhouse.
