Nice pic. How did you get such clarity at that magnification? And the leaves always have amber trichs first. I no longer even bother looking for amber to much. Just make sure there are no clear left.

You can buy a little magnifier that plugs into a smart phone or computer and it has a picture capture button on it. It would certainly take a picture like that.

What Burque said is the object (although the buttons don't work). It's a cheap Chinese made thing but it's functional. They use freeware to control it, it would be much better if they'd come up with their own software for it and increase the resolution a lot. They're on Amazon for $20 as "jeweler's loupes" or "microscopes". They're actually USB macro webcams.
The zoom seems to be more of a distance/focus thing than an actual zoom.

I put it in the holder and set that on a camera tripod to hold it still.

If the descriptions are right of cloudy vs amber I'm fairly sure I don't want much amber. But I've heard the claims of it's CBN are false bro science, I think it's more of a terpene thing and ripeness. If you let an apple get so ripe it falls naturally it tastes better than one picked early depending on variety, I think that's all it is a sign of ripeness.
My main thing is I've hit a sign of ripeness without bud rot. Potassium bicarbonate will be part of my routine from now on (assuming it doesn't cause a health problem, which I doubt if it will).

Regressive, backward-ass, redneck shithole state....do not patronize.

Using a constitution to limit freedom has worked so well in the past.

And it's about medical, which last I saw has something like over 90% support. Hopefully freedom loving people in Utah hit them hard on this and they lose big.

I just got a 100w quantum board for vegging. Compared to my 2 50w LED cob flood lights it kicks their asses on coverage. The cobs were too spotlighty at growing distances, so much that when I had 3 plants the center one was noticeably not getting enough light.

I'm fairly sure the price range for the 2 floodlights was the same as one off brand QB. I'm positive it is the same for later model quantum board style floodlights.

(Although I didn't find any seeds until we legalized and I could legally grow I built my box and everything to test if I wanted to pay for a card. The intention was a no paper trail grow, I'm sure it would've worked, the floodlights did great with vegging and I used them for that until today. The coverage wouldn't have produced as many good flowers.)

Speaking of flowers, gave mine a squeeze and they're pretty dense, even the lower larf. I may be chopping tomorrow or Monday depending on the workload for the week.
Not much in the way of leaf trim but a lot of foxtails for edibles.

Conveniently I wake up to an email, no work this week.

20210131_170510.jpg

Decided the next one gets moved into the grow box (so the roots don't get too big to change lids and then I'll run 2 clones for seeds on my veg shelf.
Really important to get seeds off the next one. Seedsman is making Brexit excuses for a smarter plan of local stocks, but that also means a lot of varieties aren't available. If it comes to it I could probably use enough Medi Haze to keep a mother going.
Although not the best, the new light should work for a mother. I'm sure I'd have to break down and get a small tent or build another box.

Sometimes you speak in code and I don't understand WTF you are trying to say but nice buds there . No way in hell do I want any male within 500 miles of my grow.

I'm waiting for the final weigh in to see how dense they are. If I get 9oz or more I'm really dialed in. 8oz without bud rot is acceptable and at least I'm consistent.

You aren't understanding about Seedsman? Right after I ordered Seedsman started saying certain varieties "aren't available in your country". They're in Spain as far as I know but their excuse is Brexit which should only matter to Spain if shipping to UK.
The good news is if they're going to be keeping a supply in the US there's almost zero chance of shipping losses and long waits.
The bad news for me is Medi Haze probably won't make it here, judging from how few I've ever seen in stock at Seedsman. I've got 5 seeds to get it right. It's my must have variety.

I can't imagine anywhere that doesn't have a male growing within 500 miles.
You can see the seeded branch in that picture (on the right with the light dots and an extra twist tie).
I got 100 digging into that branch while still wet and it wasn't heavily seeded.
When I say the prices being charged for seeds is making million dollar plants I'm dead serious, I'll grow a male every decade to avoid rip-offs like that. It's only one branch, you've said it yourself, you'll throw out more than that.

I am impressed. How did you manage to only pollinate one branch and not the whole plant? I was also told that hermi seeds were not genetically correct and would not grow well.

All I (intentionally) did was the pollen that I showed on my phone was brushed on that branch with a small paint brush. I saw a puff while I was doing that and got a few extra seeds low elsewhere. But I also saw some seeds high enough on other buds it makes me think I may have had some box to box transfer or on my clothes because this time I tried to save pollen so was messing with it more.
I'll know more when I trim but while growing I only found 3 seeds high on other buds.

I'm not sure what was meant by not genetically correct. Cannabis is naturally hermaphrodite. Sounds like a confusion between man made desires and nature and thinking man is correct, nature is wrong.
Medi Haze only comes feminized and it's growing fine (and they claim to do it without chemicals which means they stress herm). It is supposed to have smaller buds but that is how many CBD varieties are plus I guess Hazes have small buds.

You could mean the claim since man has bred herm out breeding herms for feminized seeds is breeding that back in.
I've heard that making a plant be hermaphrodite, either through chemical force or stress, changes genetics but that sounds like the ultimate bro science to me, I'd need to see the DNA report to convince me.
I've also heard there is no more tendency for feminized seeds to herm than any other seed (and I think it was the same guy making both statements).
I think what is going on if anyone is actually seeing that happen is the not so recessive hermaphrodite ability isn't able to be weeded out of the gene pool when you're using a herm for pollen.

I've never found a seed or a banana in dispensary Medi Haze (the only known feminized variety I've had) so I have no reason to expect it to be prone to herm. The landraces I got from the dispensary definitely had a lot of bananas.

If I ever had a natural male I'd use that pollen. The only reason I buy the feminizing spray is because I've only had females sprout with regular seeds.

9oz too dry. Since no mold I hung to dry. Too wet, too wet, then the cold snap with the furnace running constantly - too dry. I don't know if it was knocking too many dry trichomes off but I like this variety.
Unless the loss of trichomes is why I like it I'll be drying in the dehydrator from now on. It's more work to wet trim and watch the humidity in the dehydrator but it's much less damage.

Got 200 seeds mostly from that one branch with the rest of the plant rounding it up to 200.

Piece of lettuce in the jar does wonders in about 2 hours.

I bought my first e-rig, it's a Carta Focus V, broke it in last night and it performed quite well. Fun new toy.

I've got humidity packs.
Boveda packs can only control the humidity to a certain degree. If the humidity gets to low or to high you need outside sources. Like a brown paper bag for to wet and lettuce (doesn't leave a shitty smell) for to dry. Do you have hygrometers in your jars? And Boveda packs are cool and good but you still need to burp your jars daily for a good cure.

Banana peels work really good as well.

I do have hygrometers. I should've got a larger pack of them.
