How's Bedard look on wing? Had the game in the background while making dinner

This team is so bad, we aren't exactly drawing opponents focus or energy. We are an off night and can barely create a scoring chance at that.

A great night is scoring 3 on a second or third goalie for us.

Still trying to understand how Bertuzzi is a fit with anything the Hawks want to do. Effort? Board battles? Score? Lol

Connor Murphy is still here being a good citizen every night?

This team has no identity. Is it young or old? Is it playing scared?

I think our goalies may be the best thing about the team.

Yeah, fire everybody. They are a perfect fit in the city that has a monopoly on bad sports teams.

I think coaching is now past the expiration date. I'm hoping someone out there is available that can hold the players accountable, get them playing for 60 minutes, and actually have an offensive game plan--much less have one that is built around Bedard

They should probably try to run more offense from their most expensive player and the rest of the blue line.

It's amazing how little we get produced from the group but Jones should at least create dangerous chances occassionally at his price tag.

I would study Quinn Hughes 1st and 2nd season hard because they were doing original things from the back that even Vancouver forgot how to do.

Quenneville is available

He really isn't a bad successor to Peterson/Davidson group.

He likes a hard nosed hockey core but he as a much better sense of attacking necessity.

He can work from what they have and build an attack around Bedard.

I thought we would be better this year with Hall back but maybe after Christmas we can make a playoff run. .

It was a weird year with the defense to make a push but maybe it was all about the trade deadline anyway.

It's not going to mean much if the O is floundering or constantly looking for a pass that's not there or waiting for a shot that won't become available. It might just end up and a one-and-done opportunity in the offensive end only for the opposition to get it and get back into our zone.--not to mention how bad Jones has been on the powerplay with allowing a shorthanded rush.

I think a lot of the issues start and end with sparkplugging Bedard and building around him--not Jones (in the back end I'd be building around Vlassic, personally). Bedard needs to play his game--much like Kane played his.

Right now we're last in GF/GP, and there's only a handful of teams with a worse shot-to-goal conversion rate--and all of them are outshooting us.

No matter how you slice it the problem at this point is coaching. Bad system? Coaching. Looking for the perfect shot or pass rather than using what they have? Coaching. PP anemic? Coaching. Little D from the blueline? Coaching. Failure to play a full 60? Coaching. Letting off the gas when the team is up? Coaching. Failure to hold players accountable? Coaching. Failure to build your gameplan off of your blue-chip recent 1OA draft pick? Coaching. Failure for any of the sophomore players to progress much in their development? Coaching.
Quenneville is available
On one hand, that might come off as tone deaf and I'm not even sure if the idea would be entertained. On the other hand Q is one of the winningest coaches in history and he hasn't lost this locker room, so there is that. On the third hand I feel like LR is Yawney (JC Alpo ;)), so we want to bring in someone more like a Savard--a Q (or Q himself) should be in place when the team is ready to contend, and we aren't there yet.

But then again, Q should be able to manage the egos in the room--which is something that needs to happen..

Holy shit they are harping on this gold drought and hawk's not scoring hard which is just sad because then they show the graphic that he has three goals 12 assists and 15 points which leads the team in all categories.
