Last core: how many one-dimensional offensive players did we have? One: Kane. We have one right now: Bedard. We need to start backfilling with guys who can play in all 3 zones at forward or defensive specialists.
Hence why I thought Leshie was a good pick.

Gotta love the generational wing bit. Guy hasn't played a minute of NHL hockey and he's comparing him to Bedard who himself is hardly generational. Call me wacky but someone with that label needs to be a guy that comes along every 20 years or so. Guys like Orr, Howe, Gretzky, Lemieux, Hull or McDavid. The kid is gonna be a fine player but just not at the level of those guys....might not even be better than Kaner. Now we're being told some kid in Russia is gonna be the next Mario. Please.....

I am talking about the hope for the future. I shouldn't be concerned about future right now? Because I don't think Bedard is going to produce enough goals by himself in 24 minutes a night.
He needed another superstar, maybe Nazar will be it.

DemiGods don't occur every draft and we would rarely have that high of a pick when they do.

Every year there is a new class of generational talent... it's marketing rinse and repeat. Pining over the one not picked is pointless. He may never actually make it to the NHL.
