As aforementioned. If we kept Debrincat and Hagel, we weren't getting CB or Nazar. The team would have been picking outside of the top-10 unless...we traded for a top-10 or better pick which would have meant Debrincat or Hagel are moved.

Nazar is from the Kirby Dach trade. I believe he was the 13th pick which was Montreal's for Dach. BHs also got Montreal's 3rd Rd. also. I forget who they picked with it.

Seems the last 2 games it has been the youngsters scoring. That's why I'm not down on KD. I want to see how his picks work out and it looks pretty good so far. The vets aren't doing much from what I've seen. I see Del Maestro (sp) was called up. Saw in the highlights he and Allen were paired together. Let's hope he's the next piece to the puzzle. I think he's still only 20.

Considering the ice hogs suck too I'm not so sure how much confidence I have in the pipeline.

From what I gathered, the 'hawks save a little bit of cash and reacquire a pick that would be higher than where they were picking. it's basically paying a little less for Rantanen than they were for Hall, but not by any appreciable amount--and the RSA comes off at the end to the season.

However, the trade between Coloado and Carolina doesn't happen without the 'hawks taking on salary, so I do think KfC could have gotten more. It sounded like Colorado really wanted to get something for Rantanen and not have him leave for nothing, so even though a 3rd (an early 3rd round pick) is a good return for Hall, Chicago held some good cards which, in my opinion, KfC failed to capitalize on. I think he could have squeezed another pick out of the deal--a facilitation tax, if you will.

It's not a horrible trade, but not a great one.

Okay, my mistake, It was Korch who I was thinking of, not Nazar.

The other pick in the Dach trade was Gavin Hayes.
