Play the kids1st looked a bit shaky, but they pulled themselves together.
They need to continue this win or lose. Get in the good habits.

Thanks for the run down on him. I did see the Colorado game. BHs looked much quicker in that game, and I'm sure it's because more of the younger guys were playing. First fun game watched in a while. Nazar is as fast as advertised and Dach is a scraper and not afraid to 'park' in front of the opponents' net when he gets the chance. That takes kahunas....... Imo, he'll need to get stronger as he does fight in the corners but doesn't come up with the puck. But this is just an observation from one game. So limited knowledge on my part. However, I liked what I saw in both Nazar and Dach. Hope the talent can grow up here with the big boys.If Dach can pass or finish, sure. They need a complimentary player and I'm not sure if one currently exists on the roster. But I agree: Bert is going to the net and Bedard is finding him and feeding him. They should be building on that (but so far we aren't)
Overall I think Ferrigno is about what you'd expect from an old vet player. He's not really been the one to put the game on his shoulders in terms of on-ice play (that's exclusively the purvey right now of Donato, Bertuzzi, and maybe Soderblom if his night is good), but he hasn't been playing like curdled afterbirth like, say, Brodie or Mrazek.
I think an overall problem is that even though LR needed to go (and I don't believe Sorenson or the rest of the coaching staff are the answer), the team overall still sucks. We're going to lose. Mikayev is the only + on the team and in 35 or more games played, only Dickenson, Murphy, Donato, and Maroon are single-digit minuses. One could take the popular discourse and say Bedard doesn't play defense...but everyone save those I listed are in double-digit minuses. or haven't played a lot of games--so it's not like it's *just* Bedard, Bert, and Brodie's fault (even though that's what we're paying Brodie to do).
My opinion is that the year is shot, but we should be developing guys and expecting improvement in individual games, as well as cultivating good habits--even to the level of being punitive. We might lose as a team but I don't think it's a stretch to say that if we see any of our good players (good in either actual ability or perception) lollygag it, then have some repercussions. i.e. there should be no reason Bedard, Jones, Brodie, Hall, Vlassic etc. can't sit a shift for poor play or not given PP time if they continue to suck. Coaching should be cultivating good habits in the kids--it's why I like Donato's game. You rarely see him give up.
Thanks for the post.To follow up on an off the cuff comment by panger tonight.
Jonathan Toews Opens Up About His Healing Trip to India and Whether He’ll Ever Play Hockey Again
After a litany of health issues forced him to step away from his career, the former Chicago Blackhawks captain underwent a five-week Ayurvedic detox—enduring induced vomiting and daily enemas—in an effort to get his body and mind back on track.www.gq.com
You mean he was doing a Duncan Kieth impersonation.........lolCale Makar played damn near the last 5 minutes of that game.
Wow!
How???
What a forkin player!
Yea...work them in one at a time and slowly...hopefully 2-4 more will be called up after some vets are traded at the deadline. Get this bunch of new young talent formed into the next Cup winners.Play the kids
Many valid points. But I still think it's a few years away from deciding who won the trades. But yes, Hagel and The Cat are very good players that could have helped. But to what end?Kyle Davidson.
A very young GM making rookie mistakes. Trading away a young, talented player named Hagel for draft picks and two players that barely qualified as NHL players. Now given the NHL fail rate on draft picks...why trade a very young, good player for picks that even if you struck gold would only turn into what you just traded away. Then you trade Debrincat for more picks. The Cat was a 30 goal guy, a finisher and if memory serves was all of 22 years old when they moved him. He was due for a payday but he did regularly what no else has been able to do since....score goals. I think they did get Korch for one of those picks but what they really needed than and now is some offense as they have very little.
How much better would the Hawks be with Hagen and the Cat still playing here? Along with CB, TT, Donato, Bertuzzi and Nazar upfront? Who knows how much better Reichel and Kurashev could be playing with better linemates?
Instead we get stiffs like Brodie, Martinez, Smith, Maroon and a fading Hall.
It was great garnering all the picks he got but people don't realize just how high the NHL Draft fail rate is.....it's been quite awhile since I last checked but I think the only sport with more failed picks is MLB.
Hawks won and shit.
Dach looked good.
Vlasic is a stud.
I'm an old(really farking old)USN vet and I always check them out.Y'all know how they have 2 vets on the ice for anthem, right?
1 currently serving and 1 retired.
Last night a WW2 USAF vet in a wheelchair STOOD the fork up for the anthem.
I was really proud of the old guy and a bit choked up.
That was a lot better to see than Corey Forking Perry scoring a goal.
