I happened to see last night's game, the first in a while. But I do watch most games highlights on youtube. That first period last night was brutal......BHs playing in slo-mo.....lol....however I couldn't help but think the BHs will soon play like the Sabers did in that first period when the younger Fs come up and take the places of these Vets who just can't start out quick & fast. Second and Third periods were fine, but the game is 3 periods, not two. I don't blame the Sabre announcers for being giddy and talking about all the 1st Rd picks that were playing last night, and doing well. Bad night for the Pickle last night, seems he was pickled all night....lol.....but all players have those kind of games. I'll tell you I think is going to be, if not already..(haven't seen him play enough) is Allen. I've read he's a 'stay at home' Dman and it looked it last night. The guy seemed to be in the right spot all the time. And he's not afraid to put a body on someone. As one of you mentioned in a previous post (my apologize for not remembering who) Korchinski looks much better on D. He was already good on O. And when Fogliano started the 'ruff housing' Big K was right there in the fight! And he's only 20 years old and is showing courage & tenaciousness to say 'let's do it'! "you want to rock & roll, then let's rock & roll'! The Pickle? Opponents don't even go near him most of the time. Allen is no nonsense. Imo the BHs have drafted the correct Dmen. And I know they have a few more big guys in the minors and/or college, but names escape me. Let's hope the Fs drafted turn out to be gems also. One more thing, Pickle, K and Allen are getting so much experience at such young ages is a thing of beauty. Any feedback on my observations will be welcomed. Be it what they may.

Skating out of the tunnel while Smashing Pumpkins were jamming was cool AF. Then the puck dropped and we were reminded yet again of which team has the worst roster in the NHL, and it’s not close. Shame.

KD giving Poles a run for his money as worst GM in Chitown. This roster is a mess no legit Top6 guys in the roster outside Bedsy.

Don't forget about Hoyer, Getz and AK.....pretty laughable group residing here. Most people could constuct better teams using Legos.
Personally, I'd match KD closest to Hoyer. Keeps his young talent out of the NHL and brings in other people's discards to play for the Hawks.....Hoyer does the same damn thing with the Cubs.

Anybody read the CCS feed? Apparently KD lit up the team in the locker room post game on Tuesday. The thoughts being that KD felt he improved the team with the garbage he brought in to play this year. With the possible of exception of TT, all he brought in was guys that nobody else wanted. Now I've been backing him for awhile now but I'd love to know how he thinks this team is improved. What he's got is a rebuilding team who is averaging almost 30 years old. Old, unskilled and slow.

It's not that much different than the 2006 or 2007 teams. Dowd? Cullimore? Bondra? Smolinski? Augroin? Khabi? Boucher? You need some place holders until the kids develop--and let's not forget that Bert and Donato lead in goals.

I'm not giving KfC a pass. He has made some very questionable decisions this season, but there's plenty of blame to go around. Someone needed to light that locker room on fire. Before Jones and Mrazek came back Sorenson had the team playing at least to the sum of it's parts (even if the sum was pretty low--there was some synergy)--since those two came back they are now playing like the difference between their parts again like things were under LR.

You nailed it for me....'since Jones came back'......I've posted my displeasure for that guy...imo he's not that good and he is definitely not worth the money he gets...I'm always suspicious of high draft picks (he was 4th overall) who get traded early & often. Idk what it is about him, but something is not right. One guess is he's not a good teammate and locker room guy. Among other issues I'm not aware of but sense have to be there.

I have to admit that I possibly jinxed this team. Since I posted how I felt the young Dmen were looking like they are finally developing into something special the BHs in the 3 games since have laid an egg big time. Sorry guys. I deserve to have crap thrown at me....lol....

Jones is probably a 6-7M d-man at best. He's not horrible but his defensive play leaves a lot to be desired. He is an all-star for a reason. At best he's a Brian Campell.

Here's the problem as I see it--and it's pure speculation on my part.

The brass are trying to deploy him as if he was Duncan Keith. He's not. That's on them.

There are times when he seems to be a prima donna. I am guessing but I think Bowman the Beancounter all but promised that he would be the next face of the franchise, and Bowman's departure changed all of that. However, instead of taking a great leadership role and trying to rise up and prove he could be the face of the franchise, he hasn't. Thus, he might not be a good locker room guy.

He gets put into positions where he's not excelling, like the #1PP unit. Why he's still there is a mystery.

Now, to be fair, Jones has come back and been, well, Jones. Nothing he's done since coming back has been that much less than what he actually is. The issue I see is that things were working when Sorenson took over, and now they are not. So, instead of saying, 'okay, let's go back to what was working', they are square-peg-round-holing him. Maybe it was for the pageantry that was the WC, who knows. But the way I see it is that Jones, like Khabibulin, is only here for the duration because of his contract. There are better pieces to build around, like Vlassic. So the attitude should be that Jones needs to adapt to the team, and not the other way around, but the brass seem to be pussyfooting around the issue.

However, Mrazek is the true lynchpin on the demise since coming back. He's been awful. Why he hasn't been put into a #2 role until he wrests it back is beyond me. Why he wasn't pulled in the WC is beyond me. I think the brass and coaching staff have failed there and I think that the next few games will show us how deep the rot goes. Do things return to when Sorenson took over, or do they continue to look like LR's tenure?

Personally, I think it might take until the end of next season, but I think the house might need to be cleaned at this point. We need a good coach who can take the team onto the next step (probably not Sorenson nor any of the current coaching staff), and if KfC can't get that and instead wants to pull a bowman and pretend like he's the smartest guy in the room, he needs to go, too.

Things are going as planned. Right now a top 3 pick is assured. You can live with any of Misa, Schaefer, Martone, or Hagens.

KD can’t f around this time and give contract extensions to Donato or Hall. It’s chapter 7 liquidation at the TDL.
