No. They don't. Not when Cutler has less than two seconds, if that, to make a throw.

I remember one drive where Charles Johnson showed why Frank Omiyale really doesn't belong in the NFL. He had a sack and a pressure on consecutive plays, ending a Bears drive.

Other than that, I don't remember Cutler having that much trouble in the pocket. There were a few times he had all day and was able to find receivers down the field on 3rd downs to convert. I believe Knox was the receiver on both of those plays.

I don't think much about Carolina's pass rush, but it's better than nothing. Last season's turnaround started against a bad Buffalo Bills team.

And no credit to the OLine for a 200+ yard rushing performance? Seriously?

I never thought that highly of it to begin with. No secondary to speak of. In a passing league like the NFL, that's going to screw you.

They'll need to generate more pressure against Stafford next week if they hope to win. And it'd be nice if they could actually bring the QB down when they get there. Toeaina missed one easy sack, and an Urlacher/Peppers collision cost them another. Stafford isn't exactly Cam Newton in terms of mobility, but if they get a shot, they have to take him down.

ya you have to rattle stafford early...and get on his throat as much as you can

they prefer going to the air since best isnt the best RB(certainly isnt bad but when you have weapons like Megatron,Burleson, and Pettigrew....you're a passing team)

I wonder who signs Zaidman's checks. He works for WBBM radio, but that's part of the Chicago Bears radio network. So is it the station or the team?

If it's the team, then he's supposed to be a homer. If it's the station, that's a different story.

You're right, but after hearing/reading so much negativity after a Bears win I felt like throwing some good things out there.

Secondary play is the biggest issue I can see heading into next week. And Calvin Johnson scares the shit out of me. Hopefully we get the same officials as week 1 last year.

Also Carolina put up the same yardage against Green Bay, a MUCH BETTER defense than our own. They won the game as well.

Green Bay's defense has been torched in all 4 games

Brees, Cutler, and newton threw for over 300 yards against GB and Orton threw for over 270 today.

before today they ranked 31st in pass defense... so I wouldn't call their secondary much better than ours.

It's only their run D that's better

The Panthers have a damn good offense. Tons of weapons, and Newton is playing up to his draft hype. They just need to learn how to make plays in big situations. The Bears defense does know how to do that, and they did it today. Just enough to win the game, at least.
