Viciedo not playing again. Comes up here to sit for a loser like Kotsay.

Brilliant.

I wouldn't call it "awesome". He's been getting on base and hitting for some power (.360 OBP and .440 SLG since May), yeah, but that kind of production is hardly sustainable for him. Why drop Nix and call up Viciedo if all you're going to do is have Dayan hold Kotsay's jock?

Viciedo isn't one of those guys that "has nothing left to prove" in the minors. In fact, he had a lot to prove, specifically that he could control his strikeout rate, get on-base frequently and continue hitting for power while doing so. To drop Nix (just "a guy" that no one is going to miss if he's not in the lineup regularly) and call up Viciedo for backup purposes only (a guy that still has a lot of question marks surrounding his game) is lunacy.

Lillibridge cracks me up. Lets ride this hot streak as long as we can before he remembers that he sucks.

Funny quote from the PSD sox forum:

Sox are riding on another miracle spark plug little bat again? With 1 shockingly very good bat out of Rios... it's been the same system for the past 3 years happening with just different people in those parts.

Rios had a pretty solid career in Toronto before coming here.

Blame Kenny for letting the CF position get as bad as it did before taking a gamble.

If it turns out that it's his elbow that just went kaput, I want everyone on this board to recognize that I called this shit awhile back.

If the initial report isn't all bullshit, no cookie for you.

Yea, um no. From 2006 through 2008, this is his 162 game average: 185 H 100 R 45 2B 20 HR 90 RBI 25 SB .295/.345/.490 to go along with his plus defense. Yea, so shocking that he's hitting like he did in three of his previous four seasons.

Yes, but it wasn't like he was a lock. Not that I wasn't aware of it, but his early struggle still didn't instill the confidence in him.

Peavy with his issues again, glady Tony Pena is able to keep it in check. Brian Anderson was the tool man... just he couldn't hit, at all.
