In the second half of this season, the Bears had the following games:

MN - No TDs; 4 FGs
Cleveland - 1 TD from two feet away; 1 FG
GB - 0 TDs; 3 FGs

This while many were stating how good our QB was looking.

I think we need to set the expectations a little higher. A swing and a miss may be a possibility, and would suck, but not taking that swing at this point is simply living in denial.
Who the hell gives a **** what "we" should do? A bunch of fans, mostly clueless fans. You can set your expectations as high as you want....what the **** will that accomplish? Bears are gonna do what they want and what they do is usually wrong....one thing is certain, no one here is ever gonna change the fact that this is a McCaskey team. And that puts the Bears two steps behind from the gitgo.

The weapons are better than the qb and the coaches.....esp.if the qb can't get the weapons the ball and/or the scheme sucks

It's blatantly obvious to anyone not a fanboy or a fan of another team they all need to go.....the Bears were gifted the #1 overall pick, use it
Fan boy blah blah blah.

Houston has a TEAM. I don't have the time to school you self-hating pretend bear fans.

It takes more than a qb. But you already know that.....

Have a great evening.

Looked to me like he had been getting his butt handed to him because his offensive line couldn't block but hey, you stick with your narrative.

Let's see how far it gets you when the next quarterback is continually eating Turf and you're wondering why he's not football Jesus.
Your solution is not a solution.

Yeah, the OL did not give Fields much time. Do you remember how well Foles playing for Philly got the ball out so fast, accurate and with anticipation no matter how fast the Bears pass rush got to him? You act like there is no QB who could have made the necessary passes in this game. It's just not true.

Bears need a Center and a Guard. Bears have FA dough and draft picks for that.

Jones 71.6 PFF
Nate Davis 53 PFF

Put Davis as backup for next year; there's an out in his contract end of 2024. Not sure you really need to replace Jones or Wright.

Jenkins injury bug makes it tough. Bears should take a high/mid Guard pick to replace Jenkins who has one more year on his contract.

So, a starting Guard, a high-middle developmental Guard and a Center. With FA dough and the 9th position pick throughout the draft, Bears don't need to trade down to fix the OL.

Brothers, just feel free to spread the hate to anyone on the team for this loss.
No matter who you spew hatred toward, they probably deserve it.
No-one that you defend is worthy of your IQ, regardless of how low it may be.

Even Santos, because if he were really a good kicker, he would be able to do kick offs.

You need to understand that I have watched a lot of tape now on Caleb Williams because I've been curious about what's available. I've also watched a lot of tape on Drake Maye.

Caleb Williams looks like Fool's Gold to me. Drake maye also doesn't look very good other than having the prototypical measurables. I'm scared to death to get either one of these quarterbacks. I actually prefer them next tier.

Just remember what happened last year when you hear all the Caleb Williams hype:

You don't have to tell me. I doubt all hyped QBs as their agent pushing the hype.
But I also don't trust the Bears to figure it out on their own Mahomes sneaking by everyone at #10 and have the stars align to them to believe in having an offense at the same time.

Penix isn't the QB for the Bears, he'll die here. Maye seems like a lesser Williams in every way. I think Williams ends up the same as Fields with the Bears.
I'm not saying it's going to fix anything (other than maybe get a good HC to come on board). It's just business. $25 million to lose or $4 million to lose.

Honestly I think Penix is the guy they should get. If a guy like Harbaugh or someone more competent we're in charge and you traded that first overall pick for more picks, you could absolutely grab more offensive line Talent to protect him, have competent coaching, and still grab Penix at 9, or maybe even a later pick if he slides due to injury history.

No, we're not a QB away. Offense is the way.

We need an oline coach who can teach these idiots who they're supposed to block. We need more than 1 or 2 targets for the QB. We need a center who can snap a freakin ball right and read defenses.

We need to get out of this 40's football mentality the McCaskeys keep pushing no matter who they put in charge. And Harbaugh is probably the one who can get away with telling them they're stupid.
The qb is the biggest piece

If you have a great oline or weapons but your qb sucks....it's irrelevant.

Find an average line
2-3 explosive weapons (currently have 1.5 with Moore and kmet)
And an elite qb who elevates everyone

And yes.....and offensive minded hc who's tied in with the and assembles a great staff

The Bears fail miserably at hc /staff and qb all the time

Well again the Pack shows the dumbass bears fans begging for a new QB what's up. We hate em but they have always done it right... trenches out. Doesn't matter caliber of their QB he has success. The Bears look for shiny thing skill players and grab linemen in the fourth/fifth round with no history of coaching anyone up ever from those spots. We got little to no pressure on their QB with a line full of first rounders. Their no name D pushed our guys all over the field. You want our QB to quick release throw it... to who? The guy who just started his route bcuz the D lineman is already in the backfield? By the time he turns his head the play is over. We have DJ who was double covered a limping Kmet and the rest are faceless fifty percenters. Fifty percent catch Fifty percent drop. We need trench talent and better situation awareness.

Houston was as bad as the bears last year....all.of a sudden they have a TEAM?

They hit on the coach and qb and the others became better.....guy was throwing to 1 wr last night....a guy who had similar/worse career numbers as Mooney coming into the season....and their rb room isn't much different than the bears.

So the ceiling is the 15th best QB in the league?

Sorry, I want more.

I respect that others don’t feel the same way, but I want great—not just at QB, but it is the most important position in sports.

And thats a fair ask...but let me ask you this...how many "great" QBs are in the game today? One could argue there is only 1 (Mahomes) and then alot of very good QBs. Teams have won super bowls without great QBs because at the end of the day, it is a team sport. Mahomes without no oline or shit coaching isn't winning a Superbowl.

I don't have hate for anyone. I just have a desire to see the team acquire the right people. If I want a player replaced, it isn't due to hate or personal feelings.

It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.

The only part about this post I might challenge is the no-name defense part. They've got eight 1st round picks on their defense. Everything else is spot on,

192 total yards on offense, QB has to take aome of the ownership on that
Just so you know. I don't converse with fans of other teams on my Bears board except to humiliate and troll them.

It is sad how we can't figure this out through how many GMs, HCs and players. And when it started was with the McCaskeys. Someone needs to stand up and tell them the emperor has no clothes.
