How can you say Fry is more accurate when they've both hardly missed???

Fair question. The beat writers all say Fry’s forte is accuracy, and Pineiro’s is power, although during camp, neither has missed much and both have hit ALL the 60+ yarders they’ve attempted. So I suppose it’s fair to say there’s not much difference between them at all currently, although Fry’s balls are all smooth, end-over-end, and look the exact same, and Pineiro’s balls have “more pop”.

I’ve been relying on fan videos during camp and kick recaps from Adam Hogue, Adam Jahns, Dan Wiederer and Jeff Dickerson. The above paragraph and previous post are essentially unanimous.

UPDATE: In camp, Fry is 27 of 31, while Pineiro is 20 of 24. FWIW

I was at family night, I do not recommend ever going to one of these I’ll never go again. That said Eddy was clearly better today, it wasn’t even close. The wife left kick by Fry is an understatement, it was a total shank probably 15 feet wide. Also missed a 60 yarder short and wide right, landed at the back of the end zone. Eddy’s would have been good from 63.

Fry missed a 3rd in warm ups as well, shorter kick probably 35 yards.

On kickoffs all of Eddy’s went out the back, Frys landed mid end zone.

Weak inaccurate leg. Haven't we seen that story already. All he needs is a 11 year olds Jimmy Neutron haircut and it would be like they never cut Cody Parkey

Update for all of camp and Family Fest:

Pineiro - 32 of 36 - 88.8 percent

Fry - 34 of 40 - 85 percent

I’ve been openly rooting for Fry because of his smooth ball and consistent form. But if Pineiro continues to edge Fry on accuracy, Pineiro could start to pull away pretty quickly, considering he’s unanimously got the better leg and “more pop”. Fry’s supposed to be the accurate one.

Pineiro was really boosted numbers-wise by Family Fest, where he went 12 for 12, including a 60 yarder, while Fry went 7 of 9, missing a 60 yarder and a 48 yarder.

Just from what the Bears beat writers and beat radio guys have been saying, I get the feeling the Bears want a reason to pick Pineiro, that they want Pineiro to win because they ultimately think he’s a more prototypical NFL kicker with his strength. He seems to be doing a damn good job also being accurate as of late. Let’s hope that continues for both these gentlemen, who have both balled out in camp and impressed.

I have no dog in this fight, but I am daring to hope that whoever they keep does not turn into some kind of useless fucktwat in the regular season. Maybe, just maybe, our long national nightmare is finally over?

I never really kept up on camp kicks before so I am curious what sort of accuracy is normal.

Not curious enough to look through the camp live tweets of other teams, though.

Wow, tight.

If they end up with similar then you would think that Eddie would still have the advantage.
