@hyatt151 can you please inform people the bears don't have any good rbs. Definitely not a deep backfield right?
is @hyatt151 code for MOMMY!!!

The Bears got a stable of bodies for sure. BUT lets be real, they havent had a homerun hitting bellcow hoss in a long time.

Member, Monty is so good they would pull him for a 5th string WR.

Monty getting his MPH up after the Bears draft Juice

No I think hes a dingleberry because he acts like the bears don't have any good rbs. Montgomery was a good back last year. Damien Williams has proven to be a starting quality back as well. I think most of us are high on Herbert. And Cohen is still a nice gadget player when healthy

Damien Williams has proven to be a QUALITY STARTING back? So he is a proven quality starting back now cause he had a decent SB game 2 years ago?

Missed yesterday's doozie.

Went from Zack Wilson having a bad day with his pre-draft nuthuggers being silent to probably-true assumptions about him to derailment. I'll still give him a chance because the season hasn't started, but everybody saying his level of competition at the NFL level won't be the level of Texas State has every reason to laugh at him being #2 overall.

Everybody seems banged up. Rashad Coward being with Pittsburgh's starters won't last. Tomlin will find out quickly he can't play OLine, and maybe he'll find out if he was as bad at his old spot on the DLine as he is on offense. They had the cap to keep Villanueva--but I'll guess just like the Bears with Leno (except Leno sucks and Villanueva can be average more consistently) they had to move on.

I'll be half full/empty and take everything Fields does with a grain of salt. Remember too many times in 2017 how every Mitch throw in training camp/preseason was always seemingly good/great. Its still positive/hope season (before the season actually starts and you find out who sucks and who doesn't) so I get it, but take all the "great throw by Fields" tweets with a grain of salt.

Also think not getting Morgan Moses a couple of weeks ago is beginning to look bad. If they remain banged up, have to hope Pace is looking at Ricky Wagner or Russell Okung (with the premise knowing he's short term/can't play a full season anymore). Unless the headcase 1st round pick from last year Isaiah Wilson sorted his mental shit out--but probably not.

Yawn all you want @Chicagosports89. Damien Williams has started 13 of 85 games. Hes a 29 yr old RB coming off an opted out season and was brought in to be what he is... a backup.

You're right. I didn't realize he'd actually started so few games. I was more yawning at the douchey response instead of just correcting me. But you are right he's proven less than I thought. Still in his last couple years he has been very good in his playing time. I am happy to have him and think he's good depth I trust to step in. He's got value in the passing game as well which is nice for a backup

This guy was looking up at Mitch Trubisky just over a year ago, how do you sign a guy to this contract after 1 season better than below average to shitty, when you still had up to 4 yrs of controlling him?

Allen improved every one of his three season. His passing numbers in 2019 were mediocre, but not terrible and he did run for over 500 yards & 9 TDs. He started every game the past two seasons, leading the Bills to their first division title in 25 years. I would lock that down too.

The contract is interesting as it actually lowers his cap hit for the next two seasons if the Bills let him play out till the fifth year option, so the Bills can keep chasing that Super Bowl title the next two seasons with their QB cheap. A lot of the guaranteed money is tied up in bonuses that gives the Bills flexibility even when you are paying him $40 million a year.

Obviously this is a lot of faith in Josh Allen continuing to deliver as he did last season, but if McDermott believes he has his QB...it's a great contract for both sides.

I would be really mad at my agent if I were Patrick Mahomes right now.

Can I have a summary? Not available in Brazil.

In his senior season at UCLA, basketball center Bill Walton showed up to the season’s first practice with a full beard. He knew it went against coach John Wooden’s rules. He’d thought it out.

“It’s my right,” he told the coach.

Wooden pressed to make sure Walton believed strongly in keeping his beard. Walton insisted it wasn’t going anywhere.

“Bill, I admire people who have strong beliefs and stick by them,” Wooden said. “We’re going to miss you.”

Shaheen said he didn’t have the virus and missed the practices due to the team’s contact tracing. Another reserve, Cethan Carter, also was out and returned. Tight end Mike Gesicki and and co-offensive coordinator George Godsey remain out of practice due to the same incident.

Shaheen stood resolute against taking the vaccine.

“For me, it’s a personal choice and it’s bigger than just COVID,” he said. “I’m not going to elaborate further on that. There is — the NFL has been trying to push it. It is no secret that they’ve been trying to push it on unvaccinated guys.

“I’m going to continue to go through the protocols of the unvaccinated that they make me do. I’m not going to get fined. But they are not going to strong-arm me into doing something for more freedom when this is such a changing atmosphere and they are already taking away freedoms of unvaccinated guys.

“This is just a changing environment and I’m going to take my hands off and follow the rules that they put in place for me. But they’re not going to strong-arm myself into getting [the vaccine].”

Full transparency: I’m vaccinated. I believe the easiest road back to normal is through vaccinations. But let’s stick to sports, right? The NFL is going to do everything it can to protect its multi-billion-dollar business from a minority of players or support staff who refuse to get vaccinated.

Every NFL employee right down to the NFL Network has to be vaccinated — or be out of a job. There’s a gauntlet of rules for unvaccinated players that teams must follow beginning with daily testing. Any team with an outbreak that cancels a game must forfeit that game — and both teams’ players surrender game paycheck.

Add it all up and there are career implications for players who don’t take the vaccine. Everyone knows it. As one former NFL general manager told me: “If you’re deciding between two players and one’s vaccinated and one isn’t — they’ve made your decision for you. You’d better be an important player if you don’t want to get vaccinated.”

Minnesota’s entire quarterback room missed practices due to virus protocol. Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who tested positive, refuses to get vaccinated and insists he’ll go to team meetings with Plexiglas around him. All this has manageable consequences in training camp like the Dolphins’ tight-end room. But in the season?

“I just don’t understand,” Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer said. “I think we could put this thing to bed if we all [get vaccinated]. But it is what it is.”

Shaheen was asked about wearing masks. He said it’s about “people’s choice. If you want to wear a mask and protect yourself and those around you like they say, I’m all for it. No problem. If I don’t want to, I’m all for it.”

The larger problem is when the right not to get vaccinated or wear a mask infringes on others’ rights to stay healthy. But let’s limit this to the NFL.

Williams is a homerun backup threat. This is the best RB trio the Bears have had in a long time. Also interesting to see how the Coastal Carolina RB does in mop up duty.
