I'd be somewhat disappointed if the Ricketts didn't try to throw an armored truck full of money at the AL East GMs...it doesn't mean they're guaranteed to lure them to the Cubs, but they have to at least show an effort.

I don't think that means anything. Everything at this point is speculation because nobody can talk until after the World Series or whenever they're bounced from the playoffs.

"cheap" isn't always a "bad" thing.
I'd rather have the top up and coming GM then a guy that has been able to outspend his mistakes ala Cashman.
