What about anything below would make you say that calling him a "not good blocker" is incorrect?

Far from a finished product in pass protection. Had lapses in judgment with occasional misdiagnosis of which rusher to block. Did sometimes struggle holding up against aggressive defenders.

Jeanty is a willing and competitive pass protector, but his technique needs refining. His hands and punches can be sloppy, leading to not securing his defender. At times, he approaches blocks with low hands, giving up his chest to second-level defenders attacking downhill with momentum. Jeanty does not showcase explosive lateral abilities—he can get caught between the tackles when pressing the LOS. Jeanty's jump cuts do not cover much ground to counter defensive run fits on inside runs.

I definitely concur he needs refinement but I also know what bad or below average blocking looks like at that position and that's not him. Based on the 8 games I watched from his jr year on. Either way, I'm not terribly concerned about it. I also don't think he'll be a Bear so it's not something I'll be following closely moving forward.

YOU literally can't answer that. Only time can answer that.
If you think your opinion should matter at this late time you had better get on the phone to Poles and convince him, you have 2.5 hours.

And there is no implication. I stated what I stated. I have no say in whether or not he's taken so I wouldn't imply such a thing as whether or not I'd take him.
I said I'd be OK with it if he's taken if he can block.
If we get him and he can't block I don't see it working out for him or Williams so I would not be OK with it.

At this point it's a hind sight thing, we just don't know the answer for a few more hours.
I'm not trying to convince Poles of anything. I never cared to bring up whether or not he can block. I never once mentioned it. I don't care. He can be an average or bad blocker and my opinion of him is the same.

I otherwise have no idea what you're trying to say. I don't know what hindsight thing this is that we'll know an answer to in a couple of hours. You said you're ok with him if he can block. We won't have any new insight to his blocking ability in a couple of hours. You can make up your mind now if you'd like the pick or not... and I understand no one here is making the pick themselves.

If there's not much of a drop off then I agree 100% better off going OL/DL at 10. Only if jeanty is good enough to consistently take the pressure off williams should he be taken with the first round pick. I wouldn't have a problem with moving up if he can do that. Difficult to disagree with the reasonable/logical points you make though.
I think there's a decent dropoff, but any position has a good dropoff from round to round. What I do know is there's likely bigger droppoffs at the premium positions.

Just to reemphasize, I like Jeanty. If we take him at 10, I will be happy cause I love a good run game and he's exciting to watch. If we trade up to 5, I don't like the move... again, I'll be happy he's a Bear, but I'll be disappointed they gave up so much to make it happen. If they do a move to 8 or so, I probably am pretty ok with that too.

It doesn't mean it's a "good" move in terms of finances and all that, but I wouldn't complain.

I didn't say I was concerned or that he's bad. I said he's not a good blocker. I really couldn't care a lot less about how good of a blocker he is. I'm not drafting him for his ability to block. I only mentioned it cause the post, to me, read as if he was wondering if Jeanty could block or not. I would've never brought it up on my own... cause I just don't care.

Would it be a nice bonus? Sure... I'd love it. But 10/10 times, I'm taking the RB who is a better runner than blocker. For example, compare him to Henderson. Henderson is a great blocker... and I would never take him over Jeanty cause of it. Jeanty is a way better RB in my opinion.

Yeah they definitely need help on DL as a matter of immediate need as well as better depth accross the OL. Won't be annoyed at all if they take that road.

That's the big thing here. He's rated way above 10. Some reporters have invented some ridiculously over valued trades to create some clickbait stories.
He's probably not coming here, he probably won't be there when we pick. We're almost certainly not trading up for him over all the other players we could trade up for.

He can be an average or bad blocker and my opinion of him is the same.

Didn't we already discuss this ad nauseum and it's the position you have a problem with?

I want oline for our 2nd year QB who probably won't have protection for his rookie contract if we don't get someone this year. If a RB can fill that role it would make the hypothetical clickbait pick make some sense.

If we trade up into the top 5 to draft Jeanty he becomes the 6th highest paid running back in the league.

What an awful waste of a cost-controlled contact that would be.
Another factor to consider for sure.
