My favorite teams
Some cocky defensive coach will be pounding the table for Shemar Stewart towards the end of the first.
He might be pounding the pavement later.

Nolen would get the most snaps because he'd be the best DT on the roster, unless prime Grady Jarrett returns this year. No, I feel that many are looking to copy Philly but as you can see it's not an equal share of playing time between their DTs...
So the Bears will be hard pressed to get Dexter the amount of snaps at 3T that he needs to continue to develop, if they bring in another 3T that cuts into his playtime.
Jarrett is also a 3T that is being highly paid, he's not here to only play 30-40% of the snaps.
I think using #10 on any rookie that isnt a day 1 starter that's getting the majority of the snaps is poor use of draft capital.
#10 is for day 1 starters, they should be looking for impact players there. 2nd/3rd round and later is for depth and development.Billings is likely gone after this year and Jarret is gone after 26. So developing a DT at 10 (or at 39/later) is definitely in the plaan
I kinda wonder if Billings is a sneaky cut candidate this year. Dexter and Jarrett are locks. They committed 3 mil to Williams. Depending upon how the draft goes I could see him being released or traded down the road.Billings is likely gone after this year and Jarret is gone after 26. So developing a DT at 10 (or at 39/later) is definitely in the plaan
As a sidebar to everything, I think people do forget that the draft in the shoes of a media member is fairly random. If you're the Bears, you have a very set criteria to develop a board specific to your team. They have entirely different methodologies, even nuances in the language. They more so talk in language of "immediate starter"... "future starter"... "future all pro" vs language like "3rd round pick".This is the part of the draft process that always baffles me. You’re saying a GM picking a man at 10 is wrong because a media member has that person ranked at 24?
If the GM pick them at 10, that means the GM has them ranked higher. But because we read the media members’ countless mock drafts somehow they are the experts and the GM’s are not?
Make that make sense!
You may be right, but a 5 win team shouldn't be more worried about depth in round one than findng immediate starters. You need to remember we have a new DC too. From what I have read both DT’s are expected to get some pass rush.
Walter nolen isn't depth. He's an immediate impact pass rusher on the interior that would garner the majority of the snaps. You may be right, but a 5 win team shouldn't be more worried about depth in round one than findng immediate starters.
Even the players are already talking about being in win now mode.

I also don't want to go to those teams and glad they're not considering me in top 3.“NFL rumors: Insider believes Shedeur Sanders doesn't want to be drafted in top 3
Well you can forget about your boy Warren thenNo, I feel that many are looking to copy Philly but as you can see it's not an equal share of playing time between their DTs...

You beat me to itSo we cant use it on trenches but we can use it on a tight end who will be at best the 3rd option and likely a backup?
The bears have a lot of good young players at many positions.
You dont replace developing players you just drafted a few years ago. Only morons dont understand it takes time to develop draft picks.
Dexter is certainly one of those players. He has a very high upside, most DT's take 3-4 years to breakout.
How is this even debatable rn lmfffao.Walter nolen isn't depth. He's an immediate impact pass rusher on the interior that would garner the majority of the snaps.
Pickens is gone in August. Guy just doesn’t have it.So this is the year we can expect Pickens to become a valuable member of the rotation?

There are very few jobs on this team that should be considered to be safe and not worthy of competition.Fact: The Bears finished 5-12.
Fact: The Bears had no Pro Bowlers in 2024.
CCS: “The Bears have zero star players.”
Also CCS*: “ We cannot draft someone who plays <insert position here> because we already have a starter at that position and if we draft someone, the starter would play fewer snaps.“
Spoiler alert: The goal in the off-season, especially for a team that finished 5-12, is to make moves that result in some starters playing fewer snaps.
That is how you get better.
*Some on CCS. Certainly not all.
The secret has been out. He's going to go way higher than people thought a month ago. He’s been super under valued this whole process imo, I’m sure due to his conference.
