Sure they might draft Warren but trading up sounds like a bit of a reach to me

Imagine the Falcons trading up for a TE with a debatably better TE that will be drafted later, while having a TE who they drafted #4 on their roster that is a bust.

I don't feel like we have nearly as many holes. Jeanty would be a HUGE upgrade. What I'm looking at right now at #10 would be in impact player. To me, that's RB, TE, maybe LT/DE if the pick starts. #39 and #41 are for depth, and future starters. Jeanty would have an IMMEDIATE impact. Would Hampton? Henderson? Judkins? Kaleb? Maybe. But there are only a few blue chip OFF players, and Jeanty is one of them.

Whatever they do, they have my trust. I expect them at #10 to go RB, TE, LT, DE, or DT. That's it.

Great teams have good depth. Bears don't have that. Trading up for a luxury is something a SB contender has the luxury of, not the bears. I'm fine with jeanty if he falls to 10, if they trade up for him then they should have a mental assessment

I think any of the RB’s you mentioned would have immediate impact. A lot of this will fall on Ben Johnson and how he can figure to use them.

Also, Bears should be able to get immediate impact at 39 and 41 because this draft is deep, even if they are rotational players there can be big impact….

Bucky Irving was 10th in rushing yards at 1122 last year as a rookie, picked in the 4th round

Karen Williams 5th round pick 1299 yards 7th in the nfl.

Why can’t any of the guys you mentioned or maybe even someone else have that type of impact on a functioning offense led by Ben Johnson and an improved OL?

Agreed. As much as I’d love Graham I don’t think it’s worth it when there are at least 3 other guys that will be available at 10

We do have holes in the way of B.Jones and K.Byard are free agents after next year, T.Edmunds and D.Swift are more than likely gone after next year and as of right now J.Thuney is also a free agent after next year and i really don't see us re-signing J.Brisker so that's 6 starters that could be gone after next year.

Edit: Is Billings also a free agent after next year? I think he is so that would be 7 starters that could be gone after next year.

Gm can do whatever they want, it's his first year. The ownership has already shown to be impatient and impulsive. Very few nfl teams have patience with gms/coaches.

Yeah, I agree with you. Just saying if I were the GM, I’d request a meeting with the owner and tell him trading the pick is much better for the franchise over staying put and taking Ward, and to stress the need to be patient. Obviously the owner can tell him to get lost though, and that he wants a QB now.

This is just a friendly reminder that college stats don’t mean shit:

Michael Haynes is tied for second on Penn States single season sack leader list with 15 in 2002. (Had 5.5 total in 3 seasons with the Bears)

Chandler Jones had 10 sacks total in 3 years of college ball. (4.5 being his best year). Had 112 in his NFL career.

Shea McClellin had 20.5 sacks at Boise. 8.5 in the NFL.

But what about the pool jump? Ehhh…. Ehhh…..

I'm not saying they can't. I'm saying who I take at #10—THAT GUY should have immediate impact. I totally agree that there COULD be a RB (it's a GREAT class for RBs, I love 4-5 as "immediate starters") at 39/41. This is also a very good TE draft.

What's great about Ben is that he's set us up so we CAN HAVE this flexibility. Membou or Campbell falls? Take them at #10 and then see what RBS are there at #39/41—Hampton probably gone, but maybe Henderson, Judkins, and Kaleb. Take Jeanty at #10? Then we can look at LT/G/DE/DT with the #39/41 picks. We have lots of options.

But whoever we take at #10—I'd expect that guy to START. So that pushes me towards RB, TE, and then MAYBE OL/DL depending on injury status, or how the Bears see the guys we have.

I’ve thought about that but I think if it were me I’d just take Banks at 10 before trading up for Membo. I love Membo but I really worry about moving him to the left side.

I agree. All this Membou love is fine but I haven’t really heard a NFL talent evaluator say he can definitely play LT. Maybe I missed it. We have a RT and a RG that should be here for a while.

Heck, even Banks has question marks in terms of playing LT. Brugler is one example who has him listed as a guard in The Beast.

It’s crazy that there’s not a single LT prospect that everyone can agree on.
