In case anyone needs a reminder about Simmons. The player he was meant to be will likely never be realized. And for the crowd that is ok as long as his medicals check out... He'll be cleared and it won't change the facts of the injury and recovery.

Plus the character concerns. Honestly, for the bears, I don’t think I even draft him in the 2nd. There’s so many safer picks that could still be impactful.

I've been saying for a while, he will be there at 39/41 and he will be on the board after.... he's sliding. People will blame the character, but the injury is probably the worst an athlete can have.

I can't wait for people to lose their minds tomorrow and Friday night about where certain guys are drafted because all the mocks said something different.
Last year the big surprises that allowed Rome to fall to us were JC Latham and Michael Penix. Who do you think it’ll be this year? That CB out of Michigan seems to be getting a lot of play. Same with Tyler Warren,

Yeah this really doesn't address the point. Whether you like it or not it is highly possible a DL or OL does not start year one. Bears FA was pretty much designed to ensure any draft pick will have to earn a starting spot.
"Highly possible" is not the same as probable. You suggest that they could draft a backup for every position on the oline with any of their top 3 picks... They "could" but I doubt that they extend both guards and sign a center.... AND draft backup IOL with any of their top 3 picks.

The only position that they "should" draft with a top 3 pick, is LT and I dont see the point of drafting a LT prospect with a premium pick if he isn't going to be at least average in year one.

As for DL, there is an obvious need for DT to compete with Billings, so I'm all for drafting one early. 3 tech & DE are much less of a need.

Or....

This injury could be being over dramatized in order for him to slide to a team further back that wants to pick him. If you watched the injury there was nothing dramatic that caused it to happen.

He is showing a lot of improvement already and it's being downplayed based on Twitter doctors saying it's catastrophic. They could just as likely be wrong.

What time are @ILoveDick and @DanielCCSBears going to start posting one of those King Poles dancing videos to show their love of his selections?

Will it be tonight?

After he cleans up Friday?

Or is it a cherry on top moment on Saturday?

How about right after each selection?

What will Daniel do if the Skat Man ends up a Bear?

If the Bears draft Banks, will the dick master start suggesting he should move to center? If it’s Warren, is he moving him to FB?

So much intrigue!

Just having some fun with you…

You need to lighten up. People tend to give you shit because you’re usually an arrogant twat.

You’re annoying but not to the level where I felt the need to exclude you from this thread.

Lol at thinking something dramatic has to happen to make an injury bad.

Non-contact = bad

Patellar tendon = bad

I'm not saying non contact injuries don't matter. I am saying that Twitter doctors that haven't actually seen his medical records can't be completely trusted.

The team doctors could just as easily say it's not as bad as the reports that are out in the media.

@CaliBearFan This sounds pretty harsh to me.

@ILoveDick Care to chime in on this? Can you suck a dick until you get sick?
Yes, even @ILoveDick can get sick from over indulging upon cockk

It’s like a 7 year old on Halloween that eats too much candy. It hurts his tum tum, but he just can’t help but engulf the next “piece”

From Mark Silverman via the Daily Herald:

“I’ll praise the Bears if:

1. Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks is the choice at 10 and either starts at left tackle. Campbell started opening day as a true freshman for LSU, was All-SEC for three years and was named a consensus All-American last season.

Banks was a three-year starter for Texas, a unanimous All-American last season, and awarded the Outland Trophy as the best lineman in football. The Bears cannot hope Braxton Jones heals or Kiran Amagadjie develops, finish off this offseason offensive line rebuild with a franchise left tackle.

2. Mason Graham falls to 10 and the Bears sprint to the podium announcing that the Michigan defensive tackle is the pick. In a scenario that was deemed unlikely just a few weeks ago, Dennis Allen is handed a do-everything player. Graham would provide the Bears with a force on the defensive line still short of playmakers.

3. Armand Membou is too good of a right tackle to pass up and Darnell Wright flips to left tackle. Wright and Membou are much better than Jones/Amagadjie and Wright. While this isn’t my favorite offensive line scenario, Ryan Poles did open the door to the possibility when he met the media on Tuesday.

4. Trade down. More picks = more better. The middle of the first round is the perfect spot to select one of the talented edge rushers. You can also win me over by picking the best edge on the board at 10. It’s not my favorite scenario, but if you are certain that player will be a stud, I’ll never argue with more help for the defensive line.

5. Swap picks with the Bengals for Trey Hendrickson. Remember him? 35 total sacks in the past two years and someone who has played for Allen. The Bears can still draft a player with the Bengals pick at 17. Throw in pick 72 and you still get a premier pass rusher along with young building blocks at 17, 39 and 41.

I’ll shrug and talk myself into:

1. Drafting running back Ashton Jeanty, tight ends Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland at 10. I’d rather draft a running back and/or tight end later, especially since that’s the strength of the draft. But I’m also in full trust Ben Johnson mode. If he’s convinced he can create offensive magic with one, I’ll roll with it and probably end up buying their jersey for my kids.

2. Trade up for Abdul Carter. I am strongly against the Bears giving up more draft capital and they are not a player away from contending for a Super Bowl. That said, Carter is a near sure thing if he’s healthy and the Bears need blue chippers.

I’m going Jets fan mode if:

1. The Bears trade up for Jeanty or anyone else not named Carter. I can barely get behind drafting Jeanty without the trade up — I explained why in last week’s column.

The shorter version is running backs don’t impact winning like other building blocks do. It’s the running game, not necessarily the running back. Not sure if I’ll actually boo at the official draft party, but it would dampen the accomplishments of the offseason.”

Nope…. Not likely wrong. I made a long post before. I’ll tag you. If all this doesn’t convince you, well… maybe you’ll hit the powerball too. But it does appear my reminder was needed.

And “nothing dramatic” happening, if you watch the injury… haven’t you ever heard people say that the non-contact injuries are often the worst? It’s a terrible sign he got this injured with “nothing dramatic” happening.
