Doak Walker winner and Heisman runner up so...Can anyone tell me how highly regarded Jeanty was at this time last year?
I'm highly suspicious of players who go into the draft elevated by the hype of their biggest year. The guys I want to see targeted in the first round are ones who follow up a big year with a second or third year that affirms the hype.
Poles will absolutely draft a TE against the will of his HC. Ben Johnson is no Tard.I’m sure if you like the pick, you’ll credit Johnson. If you hate the pick, you’ll say it was Poles.
Either way if the pick hits, you’ll say it was Johnson after all.
I prefer others to Jeanty, but the question is a bit unfair in that Gibbs has one of the best OLs in the NFL.@everyone that wants Jeanty at 10 or higher...
How do you think he will compare to Jahmyr Gibbs?
Better/Worse/Same???
James Pearce to PHI at 32... of course. This guy is the best mocker out there over the last 5 years.![]()

In theory, better
I think he’s pretty wrong… I hope he is. That’s just unfair.James Pearce to PHI at 32... of course.
Wouldn't surprise me that Poles (if possible) moves down either.Chill guys, it's lying season as they say. It could be that Poles is actually trying to move back in the draft.
I'd take that in a heartbeatThis guy is the best mocker out there over the last 5 years.![]()

ok?Just a reminder that trent richardson was supposed to be the next adrian peterson.
Yeah, I'd support a trade back into the late round 1 to take a swing on a player Pearce or NolanI think he’s pretty wrong… I hope he is. That’s just unfair.
I think a lot has to do with him showing a willingness to take Gibbs as early as he did. Lions don't do that without his influence. It’s either the biggest smokescreen ever or they’ll have to teach Ben how to play Poker.
Ok I was responding to this."Highly possible" is not the same as probable. You suggest that they could draft a backup for every position on the oline with any of their top 3 picks... They "could" but I doubt that they extend both guards and sign a center.... AND draft backup IOL with any of their top 3 picks.
The only position that they "should" draft with a top 3 pick, is LT and I dont see the point of drafting a LT prospect with a premium pick if he isn't going to be at least average in year one.
As for DL, there is an obvious need for DT to compete with Billings, so I'm all for drafting one early. 3 tech & DE are much less of a need.
My point was simply if they take an OL or DL with any of those picks there is no guarantee they are absolutely starters year 1.#10, #39, #41... those are absolutely starter level premium picks year one.
I think Nolen is gone in the teens.Yeah, I'd support a trade back into the late round 1 to take a swing on a player Pearce or Nolan
hes always got JOHNSON on the brane!I’m sure if you like the pick, you’ll credit Johnson. If you hate the pick, you’ll say it was Poles.
Either way if the pick hits, you’ll say it was Johnson after all.
That's from this year. This time last year, Ollie Gordon was the Doak Walker winner, and this year is widely considered a 3rd day pick.Doak Walker winner and Heisman runner up so...
the rich get richerJames Pearce to PHI at 32... of course.
Teams that draft well can afford to take some chances here and there.the rich get richer
but hes too much of a headcase for non-contending teams, i guess?
