Empty stats on a losing team. I meant in the way of wins but I can see why it looks stats related. They certainly aren’t losing because of him but they are wasting him because the team wasn’t ready.

Wins and losses are not an individual stat unless maybe that individual is the HC but even then usually not.
I could see Jeanty making the QB protection look better on this team which would make the whole team better.

I do agree, don't trade up for Jeanty (or anyone) and I prefer OT at 10 (just from the way the sims have played out for D trenches).

I'm not entirely sold on Jeanty. I do want the team to have a great RB again. I think we have more important things to do.
I'm not going to cry about it if Poles thinks Jeanty is a now or never RB.

Ok I was responding to this.

My point was simply if they take an OL or DL with any of those picks there is no guarantee they are absolutely starters year 1.

Bears are in position to go BPA within reason IMO.
I agree the Bears are in position to go BPA... at a position of need.

If they are going to invest premium picks into players that won't be playing a significant amount of snaps this season or at worst the starter going into next season, it's a waste.

It's better to grab a rare Safety prospect that can start day one in the first round, over taking a LG that won't start until 2027 for example.

I dont have a problem with them going RB or S. Just not at 10 as I think that is too high. Better off trading down for anything.

If you arent planning on extending Jones then getting a LT now is pretty smart to allow them a year of NFL development. If for example Josh Simmons falls to the 2nd then I would draft him because you dont need him to start immediately so can let him fully recover from his injury.

As for DL, getting and Egde or IDL makes sense if you want a solid rotation inside and Billings and Grady are older and get banged up. The Eagles IDL of Carter, Davis, Williams and Ojomo reeked havoc in the SB.

So dont think absolute starter is a must. Gotta balance this year with a longer term view.

1456 and 14 in year two is pretty good. But it didn't help the Falcons win more games.
I disagree with your logic. Bijan is a great player, and without him, the Falcs would’ve lost even more games. It’s a team game.

The Bulls didn’t win the title during Jordan’s first 6 or so years in the league. I don’t think anyone would claim he was the reason those teams didn’t win more games.

We’ve gone round and round.

Who’s your guy at 10 excluding Hunter and Carter? It’s draft day MFers!

I still want Kelvin Banks Jr.
Mike Green.

He can play DE or LB so he will get plenty of snaps and make an absolute impact. I don't care about allegations from college that never materialized, his coaches loved him and said his character was excellent.

Good enough for me.

Im on board with taking OL or DL with any one of the picks, I'm not on board with passing up players that are upgrades over the current starter just because of perceived positional value.

This Vegas odds shift is interesting. Bears all of a sudden the favorite to draft Jeanty. If it happens I’m going to hope like hell he is Walter Payton v2!

Is Jeanty a better prospect than Bijan Robinson? I’d say hell no and honestly Robinson hasn’t really done much.
He may, or may not be, but most sites have Jeanty as the higher-rated prospect. But to say Robinson hasn't done much is a stretch. He was a pro-bowler and the 3rd leading rusher, and was 4th in all-purpose yards. He is an outstanding player and offensive weapon.

It was poorly worded by me. My bad.

How does anyone watch this Colin cowherd show? It has constant weird hypnotic elevator music going in the background and this weird annoying co host who brings nothing to the table.

I don’t mind “uncle Colin” on YouTube but this show is for like 75 IQ people.

Question for the more knowledgeable draft guys here. Did the guy that waits until draft day to provide his only mock release it yet?

Could you imagine if we took the haul and we were talking about trading up for Dart?
