i would rather the lightning beat the canucks in the final, losing to a team from the "south" would be more painful to those stupid canuckleheads

I hope Boston wins, Boston will throw that wanna be physical play right back in the Canucks faces

Yeah, that's what I'm banking on.

Boston is a legitimately tough team and Vancouver has had success this post-season by really throwing the body around a lot more than they ever had in the past. If Boston can smack them in the mouth early and have Thomas stand on his head- I think they have a chance.

I hope Boston wins as well, I enjoy watching them play. Plus, we'll get to see how tough Torres really is after Charra fucking obliterates him along the dasher(s).

I hate Boston and Vancouver. What a horseshit Stanley Cup it'll be if they play each other.

One last thought on the Western finals...

Niemi kinda blew. His team didn't do him a lot of favors (especially when Eager went on his crime spree), but his overall play was not up to par. He had flashes of brilliance and kept San Jose in games, but more than a few of his goals were "shoulda hads" and he just wasn't anywhere near the goalie that stole the Chi/SJ series last year (which is the goalie he NEEDED to be in order to beat Vancouver).

I still like the guy a lot and think he's well above average, but he could have been better.

Agreed.

What was kinda disappointing was despite Eager's idiotic crime spree, he was the only Shark who seemed inspired and I don't think mclellan brought him back afterward. Now that's some excellent coaching :/

I agree 100%.

Eager was the only Shark that came to play that night. He was visible on every shift (more than you could say for Thornton and Heatley that night) and he brought a serious physical element against a team that had been the aggressor up to that point. The Sharks got torched on his penalties, but that's when a team (and a goalie) need to stand up and kill a pp or two. Vancouver got the momentum from powerplay goals and ended up running away with it. A few big kills + the energy from Eager's action could have absolutely swung things that night.

What's hilarious is that I've read Vancouver fans laughing about how terrible McLellan was for not benching Eager earlier in that game. These fans apparently forgot about Vigneault completely losing his team from a discipline standpoint as they took penalty after stupid penalty on Byfuglien in game 4 last year (Toews and the Hawks smoked em on the PP and the series was absolutely over).

Man, it is astounding how much I dislike Vancouver. It's bordering on unhealthy. :dunno:
