I doubt he goes to the Mariners... He wants to win, not lose. I say the Cubs or Rangers. Both are sleeprs as there are no talking.

He will go where ever he gets the best offer. I doubt he takes less to play somewhere else

I agree with this statement 100 percent, considering it has been what I've been saying since the beginning of this year as far as where Fielder will go.

The longer this drags out, the more likely I think it is that he goes to Texas.

Just a feeling. I'm not too optimistic about it as it is right now. I guess that happens though as a fan. Lol

I feel much less confident about now but I still think we are big players on him... Theres nothing in the system or in the coming years FA class that excites me.

The only thing i would be ok with is if Miami signed Fielder and we trade fro Gaby.

Fielder and Boras are likely seeking a seven or eight year deal worth north of $2oo million, but if the Cubs’ offer Fielder a six year deal worth $150 million, it may be easy for Fielder and Boras to overlook the fact that the deal is not for seven or eight years.

how does this guy get the 1st selection on a google search for prince fielder?

sure, fielder one of the best hitters in the game..and boras the notorious agent who fleeces everyone are just going to say hey " il take 150 million @ 6 years " even though he probably will not be worth the money 7-10 years into a contract as he and his agent both know that. what a fucking idiot writer.

Grain of salt is an understatement.

That article means nothing....

For me Fielder is a must do signing.

1. The upcoming free agent classes have little to no power.

2. The Cubs do not have enough to trade to acquire a player like Fielder.

3. The Cubs need a bell cow player to represent the turn around to the fans and themselves.

4. The Cubs need someone with power in the line up if they are going to develop young pitching. Sending McNutt out there and telling him he needs to allow less than 2 runs every game is counter productive.

Without Fielder, can the team average more than 3 runs a game? I'm not sure there is an 80 rbi guy on the team right now.

Need dudes on base to get RBI, even if Fielder is on the team he might not get 80 RBI

Depends on how the Cubs decide to set up their lineup too.

I like the DeJesus signing and think he'll help. Castro will get on base and if the Cubs are willing to offer Cespedes 55-60 million he'll help. I expect Cespedes to be a good in the MLB,
