I hear ya, but when you look around you might get 80 out of Soriano. You might get 80 out of Soto. I am not sure you can get 50 at 3b, ss, 2b, cf, or rf right now.

I still think there's a good chace Fonzie won't be here in 2012. Especially if the Cubs make a strong pursit for Cespedes like they say.

Depending where Castro bats, he could have only 50 rbi's, either way I bet he will.

1. DeJesus
2. Castro
3. Fielder
4. Stewart/Byrd
5. Cespedes

That is a lot better than last season.

Four Teams In On Prince Fielder
By Tim Dierkes [December 12 at 11:24am CST]
Albert Pujols is off the board with a $254MM contract from the Angels, but Scott Boras is going to let the Prince Fielder market simmer this month. The latest:

•The Cubs are definitely in the mix for Fielder, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. He adds that the Mariners are trying and the Blue Jays and Rangers are "among teams showing interest and thinking hard about it." At the Winter Meetings, Rangers president Nolan Ryan told reporters his team is not in on Fielder.

No way in hell Stewart or Byrd should be hitting in the top 5.

Unless Brett Jackson can come in a swing the power bat I think that Stewart or Byrd will need to be in the top 5.

Unless we go

DeJesus
Barney
Castro
Fielder
Cespedes

I'm pretty sure you don't want Barney as your #2 hitter.

If we get Fielder and Cespedes what would your line up look like?

I'd still want DeJesus leading off and Castro batting #2 behind him. I think that works out better because you have a better on-base guy who will hopefully get on base, and then a good bat-control/contact guy hitting behind him to move him over before the big boys bat.

I have no idea what Cespedes will do as the Cuban league apparently is at High-A level at best. So his numbers might be a bit inflated, although if he's good at baseball it probably doesn't matter where he plays.

You would have to imagine that if Cespedes was ready to play at the big league level right away that they would bury him in the 7th spot to limit the amount of pressure on him. I would stack the lineup like this: DeJesus, Castro, Fielder, Soto, Byrd, Stewart, Cespedes, Barney.

Is Fielder going to sign anytime soon? What is the hold up at this point?

If the Brewers are out, and the Marlins are "meh", then that means the Cubs' chief competition might be Seattle, Texas, or maybe Toronto. Just have to outbid one of those, and maybe the Cubs can wait out Boras because a ten-year contract for Fielder has to be considered unreasonable for most front offices with a brain.

Is that even being talked about?

I doubt it even though he is durable that is a lot of risk for a 300lbs man.

Does anyone think this is getting done in the next couple of days because after that Bears game I need a pick me up to get me through this week.

I think those are Boras' comments to try to establish a market for Fielder. Too lazy to Google right now but I am fairly certain at some point he asked for that long of a commitment, though no one really knows if it's tongue-in-cheek or if he was serious.
