Here's to a SF defender tackling a Packer RB into the sidelines and taking out Rodgers for ... forever.
Too bad he is not playing, that SF player would have to take Rodgers out on the sidelines.

Thing is, word will be out on him. No way we get a 1st round, and I think even a 2nd rounder would be lucky now that this fiasco happened of Smith's buddy being an idiot and calling NFL teams without knowing how anything works.

I think a 3rd round pick is realistic, because it also somewhat insulates the team receiving him in case he act like an ass there, by not being so damaging they can't cut him. Its like Smith wants to be in the same category as Antonio Brown.
I'm not trading him for a 3rd but Poles might.

Are you under the assumption that its the GM at the negotiating table?

Regardless, giving in to a players demands isn't what makes a good GM

A good GM does what is best for the team which is signing or trading him. It is not engaging in a pissing contest just so you can win against the player.

It doesn't seem to me like Poles has engaged in any pissing contest thus far. Roquan however seems to be dragging his own self through the proverbial mud at the moment. I hope they find common ground and get a deal done, but negotiating with a terrorist is not the way to go.

Does seem like there is a disconnect there.
Obviously there is a disconnect. But it's about a poster on here thinking he knows the psychological ins and outs of dealing with a player vs dealing with an agent, or about Poles and Roquan relationship, or several other assumptions one would have to make to write what he wrote.

He just doesn't like Poles because he didn't pick a WR in the second round.

Ok, instead of de-escalators in Smith's contract replace them with performance based escalators where he can actually make more money. Like if he hits certain incentives, such as the pro bowl, tackles, playoffs etc.

Smith isn't signing an incentive based deal. He wants to sign the richest contract for a linebacker ever. Those are two entirely different situations.

@Anytime23 and @dabears70 sexual tension in the Quan thread.
Cmon man. Can you all just be adults? All you are doing here is inviting personal bullshit into this thread, which I'm trying hard to squash while remaining fair.

I don't like banning people, and frankly, I've got more important things to do with my time than chasing down reports trying to figure out who started what, where. My patience is running thin though. I'm gonna start banning anyone who even remotely baits, trolls or otherwise brings these threads off track.

Please be better.

Of course he has. Removing him from PUP because he hurt your feelings is getting involved in the pissing contest.

The longer this drags on and the more acrimonius it gets the more likely to affect Quan's trade vale and make both sides look bad.

He was treating Ro with family rules to start. When Ro went hardball business then Poles started treating him like a business adversary instead of family. That's just dealing with his shit like he should IMO. If he didn't I'd wonder about him.

People were getting on my case about posting about Quan in here and I was just saying they were running on in the other thread with personal bullshit so I stopped posting there.

The sexual tension thing was meant as a joke. I stick to talking football for the most part but appreciate the joke may have been ill timed given all the bullshit in that Quan thread.
