I already provided AJ Bouye as an example. And once again you yourself have complained about the Bears overpaying for Free Agents.
Bouye was over 5 years ago. And the Bears overpaying for free agents has nothing to do with them being player friendly. Almost every free agent is overpaid, as they are uprooting self and family leaving friends and familiarity, moving to a new city learning a new system of doing their job. Bears just threw gas on it by having a GM that had near zero drafted players worth re-signing, negoitiated against himself, and had zero self control and you get this years cap/dead money situation.

Now they have a GM that sticks within his market ideals, doesn't hide around corners, and thinks well beyond the fan/press group think.
That while having a disgruntled ILB wiping his shit on the walls of his renegotiation, like a 2 yr old left unattended in the bathroom.

It's interesting watching Roquan holding his proverbial breath and turning blue.

This issue should have been resolved before training camp. A competent GM would have found a way to open a conversation with Roquan without creating bad will.
So would losing a respected team leader and the best defensive player on the team end well for the team?

Has nothing to do with the GM when the player doesn't even have an agent and clearly doesn't understand how the league works if he has someone calling teams on his behalf who isn't a certified agent

I posted exactly what was quoted from Bouye and you insinuated that he wasn't being truthful
Didn't you know? @remydat believes anything found on the internet is fact, so the minute he types one of his assumption...voila...facts.

I debated with dabears about football. Yall are taking it to a far more personal level that has nothing to do with football.
And it was no longer in this thread until you made sure to invite it in, so congrats. Also the sexual tension jab wasn’t needed and prob not what we’re looking for in this thread moving forward. Thanks

Yes really. Better to sleep it off than try to drive. Be responsible and don’t get busted for it. What is your problem with that?
My problem with that?

It would be that some people DO try to sleep it off and not drive by sleeping in the one location where they are not exposed to everything on the street, their cars. Yet they get arrested for DUI because they had their keys on them while trying to sleep it off.

Did you not get that?

Nope. In the post I responded to you referenced Florida not have state income tax. So I responded to note that is an assumption because Bouye never said that nor did anyone you mentioned.
And it states why in the article and has nothing to do with what your narrative is

"I like their talent. It was closer to home, and it's in the division. I'm happy here."

This is what you said Bouye said.

My point is that there is a multitude of factors for a player to choose signing elsewhere for less money.

Whether it be a no state tax state like Florida, it could be better weather, closer to home etc etc

Not because the Bears played hardball with a player holding out
This is you listing factors no one said so you are making assumptions as well.

His willingness to be a part of the team would be huge. And yes, if he proves in camp he’s worth what he’s asking in this defense, he would get paid. I ? believe that. What he’s doing now may be part of the process, but it’s losing him value in the eyes of the staff.
Not participating is literally the only leverage he has

When it comes to the business side of football, I personally avoid taking sides. Usually both have merit.

And when shit works out, everyone goes back to buddy buddy again

It's all maneuvering and performance

You asked for an example. You did not put a time limit on it.

Poles was going to overpay for Larry O so no don't think overpaying is behind us just yet.

I have no problem with Poles outside of his handling of Quan thus far.

This is what you said Bouye said.

I never said Bouye said those things. Two separate posts. I listed reasons that players have for a choosing a team other than strictly money. Provided Clinton-Dix as an example of a player choosing the Bears over more money. Was more recent but because he wasn't a "premier" free agent, you tried to brush it off as nothing even though it pretty much negates your argument. Which you still haven't provided any real proof other than assumptions. But yeah, agree to disagree. Players ultimately go where the money is and don't care about that teams issues with other players

No I was explaining why I posted about Quan in here and not that thread as a few posters were crying about me posting about Quan in here.

The Pack has arrived in San Jose for their game in Santa Clara vs. the Niners on Friday Nite.

It will be the Niners starters vs. The Packs backups, but I like the depth. I think J-Love and the boys will have a good showing. Win-Loss record is not the goal in preseason. Getting some good work in and getting out of it injury free is the main goal.

They should have put J-Love in the promo.

Here's to a SF defender tackling a Packer RB into the sidelines and taking out Rodgers for ... forever.

But until you can tie those examples to actual people they are assumptions. You provided no example of someone claiming state income tax was the reason so it is an assumption.

And no I said that we have no idea who the other team was so they could just have been a shittier team for myriad of reasons.

By contrast we can all agree that the Bears are objectively a better franchise than the Jags so Bouye turning us down for them is telling.

I'd like to point out that David Montgomery is on his final year of a contract and isn't acting like a ***** about it

That is his choice. Some people are cool with getting screwed and some aren't.

I want Roquan on the football field because he's really good, but damn has his entire Bears tenure been annoying as hell. He doesn't have a level head on his shoulders and it feels like people around him give really shitty advice.

I am willing to bet he fired his agent, an agent thought to be really good around the NFL, because the agent was real with him and told him no way he's getting $100m. He honestly has had one off the field incident after another.

At this point, Smith is a headache. I'd trade him before he goes all Alonzo Spellman and we catch him walking down an expressway naked.
