Those things matter and so does the perception players and agents have of how fair you are.
The whole players won't play for mean franchises without huge verpays is a fictitious point that exists only in your head

Please cite 3 examples in the last 5 seasons of a player, any player, not named Tom Brady, taking a significantly lesser deal for any reason when having a choice of offers, let alone stating he did it even partially based on the reason being team friendliness reputation.

How about 1 example?

Damn Roquan is in so far over his head they should call him NolocompendoQuan

An awkward situation between the Bears and linebacker Roquan Smith could soon be getting even more awkward.

Per a league source, a person purporting to represent Smith has been calling other teams in order to gauge potential trade interest.

It’s a problem for two reasons. First, the person isn’t an NFLPA-certified agent. He can’t represent Smith or any other player. Second, Smith has not received permission to seek a trade.

Basically, the person is setting up a potential tampering trap for any team that either engages in conversations regarding Smith or fails to promptly notify the Bears of the impermissible contact.

It’s unclear whether Smith would have any problems for attempting to instigate tampering. But this is far different than a team reaching out to a player or his agent. This is a player, who isn’t represented, trying to generate trade interest at a time when his current team has not authorized trade talks.

Smith, who ostensibly represents himself (but apparently doesn’t), has been present for training camp but not practicing. He wants a new contract to replace his fifth-year option. Earlier this week, he publicly requested a trad

As your attorney I advise you that if a cops finds you drunk and napping in the driver's seat of your car while parked on a public street, you will absolutely get charged with a DUI even if you never actually drove the vehicle in that state.
It is so unfair!

It wasn't even his car. If they can believe that he stole the car, why can't they believe that he just slept in it? Why would he admit to the bigger crime and lie about the lesser one?

Green text, just to make people are ware that I am not serious.

This actually happened to a coworker of mine when we were doing the phone system at UNR. Dude got wasted.......drove to the campus....parked the car and fell asleep. Cops woke him up a couple of hours later and charged him with DUI because the keys were still in the ignition even though the engine was not running. He pleaded innocent and the judge called him an idiot (which he was and is) and found him guilty.
If I drive to a place and fall asleep at the wheel with the keys in the ignition but the engine was not running, what is the crime if I was just very tired and took a nap? Note that I have not had alcohol in about 5 years.

I am not arguing. I just want to know if I could be charged with something if I was listening to the radio while taking a nap. My blood alcohol level would be 0.0 because I don't drink. Could they say that my blood-alcohol level dropped because I was napping for a long time?

Simple, take a breathalyzer and move on. If they find 0.0 in your system or any signs of alcohol in your car, they won’t have anything on you.

I’ve done that before when I just needed to nap and didn’t want to risk it.

You would have to fail a sobriety test/breathalyzer to get the DUI. Getting drunk and then sleeping a couple of hours, you would still have an illegal BAC

"Washington wanted him back, but the prospect of suiting up for a more legitimate contender and for a better defensive unit was the deciding factor. Indeed, Garafolo says that Clinton-Dix turned down more money “elsewhere” to play for Chicago and to reunite with Jackson, his former teammate at Alabama (it is unclear whether the Redskins’ offer was higher than the Bears’ proposal, but at least one team was offering more than $3.5MM)."

Lol Dix was a middling FA that got 3.5m. Not a top free agent. Not to mention we don't know who that team was as it could be a team even less well regarded than the Bears.

By contrast my example was of a big name free agent who turned down more money from the Bears to play for the 3-13 Jags ie a historically bad franchise.

I’ve answered that question like 5 different times and somehow you still don’t understand. And you’re complaining about the Bears beat asking the same thing 10 times? Lul
Perhaps, 9 times is ok but 10 times is too much?

Thanks to both respondents.

I guessed the same but just wasn't sure.

Strange you know all of this yet Flus did not as he said repeatedly to go ask Quan and seemed confused as to whether Quan would be made available to speak or not.

Flus rolled into the press conference unprepared. Simple as that. Hopefully he knows better next time.
Flus with the loaf.

My point is that there is a multitude of factors for a player to choose signing elsewhere for less money.

Whether it be a no state tax state like Florida, it could be better weather, closer to home etc etc

Not because the Bears played hardball with a player holding out

A myriad of factors can also include the Bears screwing players over. You are just making your own assumptions while crying about others making assumptions.

Roquan is just a dumbass. He isn’t getting proper advice, and has an inflated sense of his value.

That is why he is having somebody calling teams for a trade. He needs a reality check or an agent to properly advise him.

I already provided AJ Bouye as an example. And once again you yourself have complained about the Bears overpaying for Free Agents.

Going by what Bouye says is not making assumptions. You're calling him a liar to get your point across

This thread is about training camp and Bears news. Quan is a bear. And I have no desire to interrupt @Anytime23 and @dabears70 sexual tension in the Quan thread.
Hey, i didn't accuse you two of having sexual tension when you went back and forth for two years straight. If you miss having his full attention, please be my guest and take him. All you have to do is n3g once and he's yours.

Pace couldn’t even talk wrs to sign onto the team. He gave option D list wrs 8 mil just to have someone on the roster after striking out with anyone with a heart beat. No one is going to listen to you though. The cape for George crew are cool with a loser franchise
