Everything about that play was awesome to see. Pretty good route by VJJ, good coverage by Gordon, perfect ball by Fields where only the Wr could catch it and great catch by VJJ.
Don't forget the little burst at the end that got him the little separation that he needed.

Now he has to work on thinking of tapping his right foot. His knee might have landed inbounds but better to learn to tap and not risk it.

Except he got fired because the Vikings have been ranked bottom third in defense for the last few years. (That's overall ranking. They have been near the top in sacks). The standard narative is Cousins sucks and the defense is good but the numbers don't really match that.
I seem to remember that the Vikes had to get rid of most of their top defenders one offseason to pay for the offense.

It seemed obvious that the defense was going to plummet until they were able to build it back up again.

Heard him on the Score with Grote and Spiegel. Sounded like he has zero faith in Fields being the guy.
This was basically him all offseason. Thank goodness we actually get to play games.

I get it, but at the same time I can see why and how the Bears being bad is a lot better for business, at least subconsciously, for some. People are suckers for pessimism.

This is one where Wiederer can be a bit of downer; however, I think he probably is closer to the truth of the overall offensive execution. Fields and company are making plays and we see highlights, but even all the offensive guys talking about how it's work in progress. They have time to chip away at the kinks, but I'm not surprised for it to be described as clunky either.
Here's the thing.

Everyone is learning a brand new offense. How in the hell would it not be clunky?

That's like complaining that water is wet.

The offense being clunky is something that should be expected through the bye week.

Shoot I remember in 2004 when Lovie Smith took over - everyone was freaking out like their hair was on fire because the defense look like an absolute train wreck, but then in the last four games all of a sudden everything clicked and they went from that to looking like a Super bowl caliber defense.

Now there aren't established pro bowlers on this offense to have that same kind of leap in year one but you have enough really good young players that I would expect by the last four games of the season or so, things will really start to click and we will see production improve and in the meantime it's going to be a lot of fits and starts as players get this offense and defense down on both sides of the ball.

Weider is kind of a PUD wack though. I don't really trust his input whatsoever and he's been wrong on a shit ton.

Plus he has nothing better to do then to pick fights with Bears bloggers. He's kind of the journalist version of Greg Gabriel.

So should he report things look golden like all the fake bloggers instead of reporting what he actually sees?

Your first statement is just flat out idiotic.

Your second statement about Larry O is irrelevant to how Poles has handled the offseason so far.

It doesn’t matter if us the fans know what the scheme is because the coaching staff and players do know. Not every FA signing is going to be a hit. The important thing is Poles is finding guys to fit the scheme. Pace and Nagy were never on the same page.
Those are good opinions for yourself.

You're such an pathetic, sad sack of deep fried chees whiz. All off-season championing another tub of goo who has been caught lying time and time again just so he build a following of dumb and gullible Bears fans. Wiederer does nothing but give professional and objective analysis and it infuriates all the homers. Still crying about him calling DBB a basement blogger. Thats what he is.

Again with the "he's been wrong a shit ton" nonsense. Your dumbass is still under the impression that a beat reporters job is the prediction business. It's not. It's to inform people on what's going on. He doesn't need to #CALLEDIT because he's not a basement blogger who needs to remind people about calling it. He's at the peak of his profession, while your idol is double fisting hot pockets trying to figure out how many qualifiers he can add to a prediction without looking like the fraud that he is.

Also, how is you and DBB's Teven Jenkins prediction going? Hilarious, Poles mentions how he didn't like how the OL didn't help the QB up in '21 and you automatically assume he's penciled in as a starter because he helped Fields up once. WRONG! hahaha and Brad Biggs was right about Goldman. The Bears beat is destroying DBB like CCS destroys you like you destroy a family sized Stouffers mac and cheese.

And putting Fields in a scheme that best fits his abilities can be that small change that leads to bigger improvements. Even if the Wr and OL rooms are mediocre.
Putting Fields in a offensive scheme that fits his abilities is a big change that i'm pretty sure we all knew needed to happen before we even signed Poles.

Yes yes. We all understand. Poles didn’t do what YOU wanted so you’re upset. This is boring.
Not upset, i actually said that i won't judge Poles until he gets through next offseason's free agency and draft to see what he does with a huge cap and a draft with all of our picks.

You're making it boring.

I listened to that and didn’t hear that at all. He did say Fields needs to show more…. Which of course he does. But that’s nothing like saying he has zero faith in him.

Bears fans like him are just angry they didn't sign a BIG NAME. Same with the media. All the 'experts' say the Bears got rid of their best WR, Robinson, but all of us that actually watch the games know AR wasn't worth the money he wanted anymore after his shit performance last year. I was just in the car and heard these Packer Sports talk people saying the Bears D line is gonna be rough, cause they let Mack and Hicks go away....but once again, us that watched the games, know that neither really played much last year.

Just cause Pols didn't add a bunch of over paid has beens, that everyone has heard of....BIG NAME, doesn't mean this team is automatically gonna be trash. Not saying they won't be trash, but it's not a given imo.
Well this guy hasn't missed a Bears game in 40+ years and never said anything about wanting Poles to sign a BIG NAME soooooooooo you're simply running your mouth and you don't even know what you're talking about.
