JK names his five that will be the "spine" of the team. Howard, JJ, Bradley , Dempsey, and Jozy.

He forgot Johansson :shifty:

Probably because he's only been part of the national since August. He will definitely be a part of the U.S. attack in the WC as a starter or as a super sub.

Julian Green picked the U.S.

Huuuuuge news. Good for the U.S., and smart form him. Good luck getting into that German side.

Cool, honestly, haven't even seen him play just heard out good he is. Give me a sample of what he got in him. I assume he will get decent minutes.

Hoping we can make some noise. It will come down to game 1 against Ghana of course. Points there will out a lot of pressure on everyone else. I'm aware we've never beaten Ghana. Lol

the thing is that i really like the makeup of the team up the middle. howard, besler, gonzalez, bradley. i really hope that klinsy starts beckerman over jones in the d-mid or deep playmaker role. jones, while a good destroyer, really doesn't bring much other than in my opinion. i think we can give portugal a good game. i'm less optimistic about the germany game. but again, comes down to ghana. if somehow the us can get 3 points there, then shit, play for draws against germany and portugal, then maybe just maybe we've got a shot to advance. without a win against ghana, we're pretty much screwed i think. you never know, but most likely, no advancement to knock-out without 3 points against ghana.

No way should Beckerman start over Jones because he would get exposed against better and faster teams, and the U.S. will be playing 3 really good teams that have a lot of speed in the group stage. Bradley and Jones will be the starting CMs in the WC if healthy.

Disagree. Jones is a liability because he has zero skill. Beckerman while slow of foot as you've mentioned, at least is smart positionally and can make passes. I'd rather anyone but Jones.

Jones is an asset not a liability. You know who was a liability? Ricardo Clark in the 2010 WC. Jones would have been a big upgrade over Clark in 2010 if he was healthy. Jones has played and scored in the highest level the Champions League KO rounds, his talent and experience will help the U.S. in the World Cup this summer.
