Re:Official

Ironically, I almost bet they upgrade him to F2 this time. It won't impact the game outcome, so it's an easy way to make it look like they did something.

Re:Official

I would be shocked if they suspended him.

The foul was definitely way worse than the Horry foul on Nash that got Horry suspended, but I doubt they do anything about it.

But why not, then? It's not like there isn't precedence for a suspension that might cost a team the series. It is still widely believed that the Horry/Suns situation cost the Suns the title.

I mean, I agree with you. I don't think they will suspend him, but I'm sick of the league's mamby pamby non-action. You've got to protect your players, or at some point they have no choice but to retaliate.

And for the record, I don't think it's a conspiracy (and either way, at this point the underdog Bulls might be a bigger story and draw than the Celtics without Garnett). I just don't they the league has any guts.

Agree. Had it been kirk tossing Rondo, you can bet your ass the NBA would have upgraded to f2 before the game even ended, leaving Kirk out of game 7.

I think they largely suspended Horry due to the aftermath and because it was a foul in a meaningless portion of the game when the outcome was not in doubt.

They might suspend him, but I'd be surprised.

I think they should. The two fouls he's had combined are easily deserving a suspension. Either one alone was borderline suspension worthy, but I just don't think they will.

I also don't think it's a conspiracy.

As a side note, my fear of getting a lot of love from the refs tonight and then not getting any in game 7 didn't materialize. At least not the part about getting love tonight.

It was eye-opening to view the realgm Celtics board on this topic. It really was about 8-2 saying that yes, he should or will be suspended. It's easy to get caught up as Bulls fans, but when hometown fans have to call a spade a spade, you know it's clear cut.

I would love if he got suspended but looking at it many times I dont see it that bad. He will play. I never seen Kirk that mad. I have been Kirks biggest supporters so I happy to see him still with us.

Although it'd be great from a Bulls point of view, given how good the series has been having Marbury out there for 40+ minutes in game 7 would be a bit of a let down. Let the teams go at it with the line ups they've had all series, if we're good enough we're good enough.

I didn't realize that Rondo threw an elbow on that. I thought Kirk was just trying to fight Rondo to take Rondo out with him for the rest of the series. But the attempted elbow sheds a lot of light on why Hinrich kept going after Rondo after the push.

Agree. I don't think it will happen. And honestly I don't want it to happen. This has been a phenomenal series, one of the best I've ever seen, and I would feel a lil cheated if the league decided the outcome. Let the players play. Its obvious that they are letting more physical play go in this series than in any other in the playoffs, so I don't see that changing.

God Bless Kirk Hinrich, that is why I love this kid. This guy lives off physical contact, he's the most physical player on the team now that Noce is gone, and I was really proud of him standing up to that Area 51-lookin sob Rondo and tryin to get one for B-Rad. And it's that fight, that 48mins of Intensity as Norm would say, that has kept us in this series and could possibly carry us to the next round.

two questions.

if rondo's out, wouldn't that help pierce and some other C's? starburry would slow the pace down and be more of a facilitator.

Second, In game 7 do you think the refs are going to call every single foul/every instance of contact?

i hope they do! we have far more depth than they do!

Re:Official

The only problem with Rondo being suspended, is that it would open up my worst nightmare of Stephon Marbury being the one to beat us.

I cringed when Marbury had that wide open three with a chance to beat us, I believe last game, but he passed it, and I think it led to a Celtics turnover.

The answer is no and I sure as hell hope not.

Its true we have more depth but this has been a physical, chippy series the whole way, and they tried to nip it in the butt this game and it didn't really work. Rondo will not be suspended. Stern cares waaaay too much more about his product than the sanctity of the game. And let's face it, this series is national headlines, NATIONAL. Everyone is watching this series. And its been the story of the playoffs thus far. I don't see Stern messing any of that up.

BTW, the refs better not come out with an agenda to get Gordno fouled out like they did in this game. That was ridiculous. It seemed like the league wanted to get Gordon fouled out because Allen fouled out of the last game.

If Bulls send the tape again right the day after they sent the other one. You know NBA will pay close attention.

Remember Posey also hit Kir from Behind and not only was he ejected but also suspended the next game as well.

I don't see how it was any different today.

I would be shocked if they don't suspend him for the next game and possibly for 1 more game i Celtics made it to the 2nd round - for the elbow swing by Rondo.

I do hope Bulls do make a big deal about it and talk in the media as well as send the tape.

Especially considering the back to back thuggery plays by Rondo in 2 games in a row.

yes, that was way too obvious. Also the back to back foul they called in Pierce's favor in that 1st OT when we were up by 4, were REALLY BOGUS. Gordon barely touched and Pierce initiated contact, then Salmons played really well but Pierce initiated again and got called for it. That should have been a no-call.

I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn't get suspended. They got enough heat for not upgrading the previous Rondo foul on Miller. There is no way they can let a throw into the announcers table and a swing with the elbow go. The NBA will look really bad if they don't.

That said, a part of me hopes they don't. We can beat them with Rondo. I'm afraid that if they suspend him it will just give the Celtics some fire to play for. Right now we have the momentum and I believe this would shift it back to them in a way. Also like others have said, if Marbury steps up and beats us, I will be insanely pissed.
