Billups going back to Detroit. Time for a 2004 Pistons reunion? Sign Rip and bring Ben Wallace back out of retirement. :smug:

So I just realized that Darren Collison went to the Clippers for two years at a million dollars a season.... Fuckin' kill me. We really couldn't have found a taker for Hinrich and signed Collison? :(

AK47 going to Brooklyn on a 2 year deal. 3.1 million in the first year, and second year is player option.

Okay... so he opts out of his 2nd year with Minny, which would have paid him 10 million, so he can become a free agent and get his last big/decent deal... And he goes to the Nets for 3.1 million? I've got to believe Mikhail Prokhorov promised him some shit hahaha.

Anyway... this definitely makes the Nets even better. If they stay healthy, I think they have a legitimate shot at making the ECF... and who knows, maybe even beat the Heat to get to the Finals. This is an old team.... but very experienced and versatile.

Is Darren Collison that much better than Kirk Hinrich to help the Bulls beat Miami?

Let's just say that Kirk Hinrich never lost his starting spot to Mike James. :smug:

Anyone who beats the Heat in a playoff series gets a  from me...even if they happen to mow us over in the process. That said, I'm still not sure that the Nets will be able to. We beat them without our best player and while they've added a lot of talent, I still think a healthy Bulls beats a healthy Nets. We'll see though...it's very likely both of us won't be healthy if/when we play each other.

We don't have the roster flexibility to add anyone of value that could put us over the top against Miami.... but if you wouldn't rather have Darren Collison than Kirk Hinrich FOR LESS MONEY, you need your head examined.

Our players will be dead as usual come playoff time.

Technically speaking, it's the same money as Kirk has one year left at around 4M while Collison just signed a 2 year deal for 2M a year...aka 4M.

But would that 2M really make a difference? No. We wouldn't use it. You know how the FO is.

Our players will be dead as usual come playoff time.
Our starting 5 will be Teague, Dunleavy (who will injure himself by the end of the first round), Deng (playing through numerous injuries), Boozer (who will injure himself immediately), and Nazr by game 1 of the playoffs. Rose, Butler, Kirk, and Noah will not see a second of playoff action. We'll have a 6 man rotation by game 3 and somehow will ourselves to a second round destruction.

The never ending cycle of injuries continues.

Mayo signed with the Bucks today. Ellis supposedly going to the Mavs. Wonder who will put up the better stats since they'll both be ball hogging the whole time.

I wonder if either team will make the playoffs. The Mavericks have a better change. Dirk still has something left and if he can stay healthy all season he can carry the Mavs to a 1st round exist. I wonder if Dallas will be willing to trade Dirk for Boozer + unknown players and picks? His salary is huge though 22.7 million.

Eh...I don't see Dirk leaving Dallas and I especially don't see Dallas taking on an extra year of Boozer salary. It wouldn't take too much for us to match that near 23M salary, I just don't see a way of doing it in a way that appeals to Dallas at all. We don't really have expirings outside of Deng and Kirk, but that's only 18M.
