as far as jimmy butler comparisons go, i think his game reminds me of manu in all seriousness

Jimmy Butler reminds me more of a hybrid version of Wade and Pippen. But with none of the post up moves and advantage in that area which both Wade and Pippen possessed.

I fully expect him to develop that. The guy is so much bigger than other 2 guards, he would create mismatches in the post. I can just see him destroying guys with a post fade.

Definitely Jimmy Buckets team going forward. Really hoping he steps up into the role.

I don't recall Pippin having a great post up game. Wade certainly did though.

LOL........

Jimmy Butler reminds me of JR Rider offensively. That is about the best comp on offense I can come up with. He is nothing like Wade or Pippen offensively. Those two players are not even similar offensively.

He is not a top 10 player. If your book has him in the top 10, pages must be missing. He has about the same value as Derozan. They are a month a part in age. They are about the same size/length/athleticism. Derozan is a better iso player and shooter and Butler is a better defender. Shooting and iso have more weighed value than defense.

Butler is having a very good season. He is not boarding on elite status. He is a very good piece to a championship team. He is not offensive player people are claiming he is. He is 22nd in the league in scoring per minute on the court and 17 teams have a player better than him. This includes his last two outburts. He gets 8-9 points a game on backdoor cuts, steals open court dunks, and technical FTs (illegal defense and what have you). That shit will not be there in the last 5 minutes of playoff games.

Bulls fans overvalue Butler. He would be the third best player on most teams that have won a ring. He would be the 3rd best player on most teams that have a real chance to win it all this season. That is who is he is. He has the same value as Derozan. Derozan is not a top 10 player.

Bulls fans overvalue Butler and don't value guys like Pau/Gibson/Noah enough.

Yeah these last 2 playoffs prove DeRozen isn't on Jimmys level. Jimmy maintained is play the entire year last year through this year. Playoff lights are to bright for DeRozen.

Jimmy is top 10 due to the NBA being weak with star talent right now

I agree with that. Most of the really talented guys in the league are the smaller guards. The big men are almost gone as far a great talent is concerned and there really are not a lot of two way star in the league anymore. Even when you look at the college game, these kids are so very limited skill wise right now. They aren't even being coached at the college level. They make a guest appearance and are gone after a year. OF all of the sports right now, basketball has the least talent development of all of them.

So we went from arguing that Butler is the best 2 guard in the league last year to he's a weak ass star this year? I mean, don't get me wrong, I hate how much of a douchebag he turned out to be but he's still an incredibly talented douchebag. He's still arguably the best 2-way guard in the league (when he's fully engaged in the game, mind you) who put up some incredible performances the last two seasons. Let's not let our disgust for his monstrous ego warp our rational thoughts on the incredible talent that we've all seen during that time.

And I argue that the NBA is weak with talent right now. The NBA has a TON of talent right now. It's even hard to pick a top 10 because everyone's will be different. With Dubs, Cavs, and Thunder you have potentially 7 of the top 10 players in the NBA right now. Then you add guys like Leonard, Lillard, Harden, Cousins, Davis, George, DeRozan, Butler, Anthony, Drummond, Jordan, Whiteside, that's nearly 20 players there and I can still go on. I didn't even mention some of the young players who are going to grow leaps and bounds the next two seasons. The NBA talent pool is looking really good. It's just a shame that our front office rarely dips their toes in it.

the 2 guard position is even weaker you got a declining Wade, Jimmy, Klay, DeRozan...JR Smith?...thats a pretty long shot from what it used to be: Kobe, Tracy, Iverson, Prime Wade, Rip, Ray Allen

thats 6 players right there from his own position that i'd say were better (4 being positively better) so i can't see him cracking the top 10 back when you had Nash, Kidd, Dirk, DWill, Pierce, Garnett, Duncan etc etc aswell

even now Jimmy is barely in the conversation as being a top 10 player

NBA is pretty weak right now compared to what it was over the last decade but i'd agree theres some nice young talent that hopefully blossoms because NBA interest will dry if no new superstars come out

right now Curry is doing his best to hold it down

I'd put Jimmy at 15-20

Or better yet, he's a middle/low end 2nd tier star. Basically, he's the 2nd best, or perhaps even 3rd best player on a championship team. Much closer to 2nd though.

Jimmy could definitely be your #2 guy on a championship team. That would be his best role because he could then focus on being more of a two way player. Essentially, the Scottie Pippen to a Michael Jordan.

Yeah, I agree with this. Kevin Durant would be a good pairing.

Thats a good analogy. The shame of it is that Rose has had such a decline in his career. The two of those guys together could have been pretty amazing under the right coach and supporting cast.

Bulls have been linked to every big free agent that has come available the last couple years when they have had big money available to use. It is funny how this year, nobody is linking him to Chicago.

The destination becomes even worse without Thibs. Thibs was one of the main attractions for Carmelo when he was thinking about coming here.

Who the hell wants to work with a college coach who has proved nothing and whose best player has only spoke ill of him?

Jimmy is representing us at the lottery so i guess theres our answer

its Jimmy's team and he wont be traded...then again i wouldn't put it past them to have him represent then trade him anyway as thats the type of lowblow shit they'd pull LOL

its also a rumor that they want to Kris Dunn (which they would need to trade up for unless a lottery miracle) all signs pointing at Roses tenure coming to an end? *excepts Gale to pop from his grave to say im Rose bashing*
