Most pick the Dodgers (one billion dollar club) will kick Cubbiers ass, sweeping them, or at very least take the series. Nope.. Cubbies were better team this weekend. It was fun. Now see what they do on the west coast. Hoping for split.

Isn't the truth for every team?
Not anymore. This commish may have implemented something to help pitchers but if he did, I can't think of it. He doesn't care for 2-1 games, he wants 6-5 games. From pitch clocks, to limited throws to 1B to stretched out relief appearances, to the DH, to starting extra innings with a guy on second....everything to increase scoring and speed up the game. And it's been successful.....close to 2000 more runs a year. The thing is, if you can't score runs the way it's layed out now....you're gonna have a problem.

BTW, this is not a shot at Manfred....I don't care for pitching duels either.

LOL, bullpen can't hold an 8-0 lead, time to load Cuas (and Alzolay, who I always thought was hyped trash) into a cannon for launch.

Went to bed with an 8-0 lead feeling confident. Woke up and was not surprised by the final result tho

Down two starters and a reliever makes it tough.

They Cubs have actually had quite a few games with 5 shutout innings to start the game. Pen has let them down.

5-0 tonight.....but early.

For the 2nd time this week, Counsell is pulling the starter with 2 outs in the 5th with a shutout going.

Clearly Brown wasn't going any longer than 5, but with nobody on base, WTF you pull the kid?

When he pulled Wicks after 4 2/3 the reliever was Cuas who completely shit the bed and the Cubs lost 3-1. But there were 2 men on in that instance.

For real, let brown get a W by getting 1 more out

But you know, something about the superiority of counsell or whatever

I read this morning that Brown was on a pitch count as he wasn't properly stretched out in AAA. Regardless, early pulls is part of Counsels MO.

Yeah, he was at that point. 75 pitches approximately.

Better the manager watches that than “going Dusty Baker” and having the pitchers’ arms fall off.

Yup, Hendricks needs to get shipped off to the glue farm, thanks for the memories but he toast.

Boras fallout. Jordan Montgomery dumped him after getting no multi year deal this offseason.
