Meanwhile, that Bellinger guy is on pace for 30 HR and 120 RBI, roughly.

You’ve got some interesting math then cuz I show he’s on pace for 27 HR and 108 RBI

18 games of 162 would be a ninth of the season. So multiply his HR and RBI by 9 to get a full 162 output. Even though we all know he won’t play 162 games, so his projections are actually even lower

Which is still solid, don’t get me wrong. But he’s also hitting .200 and his OPS+ is 83, very poor for your number 3 hitter

Something will have to give. We will either see his average start to climb or we will see the production start to drop in line with his average. Unless you think he’s going to suddenly be Kyle Schwarber and hit .200 with a bunch of homers and RBI

Considering the path Hendricks is heading down....tonights start is kinda big. Most of us hoping the second half Taillon is the guy we will see tonight. If not, look for Hoyer to go into super dumpster diving mode soon.

I had calculated 17 games incorrectly
I multiplied by ten and said “roughly”.

Split hairs if you want. The simple point being we don’t need to jump to the conclusion that the contract was a mistake.

As soon as he gets on pace for 28, someone will wring their hands over his opt out clause.

You almost made it through an entire post without referencing dumpster diving.

Just kidding. You didn’t really almost make it.

Jk

OPS + is 83 still. Something has to give

At this point I would like Mark Leiter Jr. swap positions with Alzolay. As a closer, you want pitcher who induces lot of ground balls, Alzolay is not it..

Nick Madrigal can't throw a ball from 2nd to 1st. WTF is this guy doing in MLB?

Relax partner.. He make quality throws from third, bad throws do happen. Lets 'admire' Hendriks start once more..

Madrigal brings so very little to the table, though.

The one attribute - one - he had was hitting. While only a singles hitter, he was presented as some "singles machine" that would at least have value in PH situations with men in scoring position. But when those situations arise, he's the last guy you want at the plate. Or close to it.

The fact that he surprisingly hasn't completely shit himself at 3rd doesn't mean he's a good 3B option compared to average guys around the league.

Not sure what 'admire" Hendricks comment means in relation to Madrigal, but since Kyle is starting today, perhaps we can sit Madrigal and Tauchman for once, as we will need 11 runs or more. The Cubs have allowed 40 runs in Hendricks' four starts.

Kyle slipped a bit there by having two scoreless innings, but with a 3-run 4th, he is back on his pace of allowing a run an inning.

Hey, Moms and Dads, bring your kids 9 and under to Wrigley Field Family Fun Day.

All kids get to bat against Kyle Hendricks, which means they also get to run the bases.

Cooper. Hendricks and Smiley to IL. Wes and Little up. We are going to lose Cooper. It's now or never for Mervis.
