Yeah that's a fair point. Its just frustrating because this guy really was available all along and of all the teams in the NFL that could've used him the Bears were near the top.

Then he goes to the Chiefs for what amounts to a late first. Rich get richer.
I haven't bothered to check but it's possible that a contract extension was part of this and he effectively chose his destination.

Kyle Long is going to be a boss playing in a real offense.

Essentially the Ravens just traded a RT (for them) for way more than a RT would normally fetch, good move...Ravens will find a Tackle in the draft to replace Brown, and have some change left over.

Plenty of FA tackles out there to fill in if they want to draft and develop a 4th rounder or later.

They might end up drafting another Brown (Spencer) to play RT.

Ravens seem to already have a replacement.
On top of that they got a bunch of picks, good move for them.

ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports the Ravens are expected to replace OT Orlando Brown with free agent OT Alejandro Villanueva

And he will likely end up playing better than Leno, if Pace ignores the tackle position again.

I get why the Chiefs would trade for Brown. What I do not understand is why the Ravens would give a pro bowler to a team that may very likely face in the playoffs.

I don't like this move for the Ravens at all. Like you said, the Chiefs are their main competition, they are already the better team and you just gave them another really good player. Plus, they threw in their 2nd rounder, making it essentially a trade down for the Chiefs (along w/ a 3rd and 4th). They gave up probably OT6 or 7 in the draft for a top 7 OT in the league. Granted, they have to pay him soon but it's worth it to protect Mahomes.

Being reported there is no contract extension for Brown with this deal. He will play on his 3+ mill contract. Would think they tag him in 22 if needed.

??? The Packers offensive line has been damn good over the years. David Bakhtiari, TJ Lang, Corey Linsley, Bryan Bulaga, Josh Sitton, Lane Taylor...I would kill to have had a decade of linemen as good as what the Packers have had. Plus they get to hold pretty much every play.

David Bakhtiari is a master at not getting caught holding the shit out of someone on any given play, gotta give him that.

The Chefs are like that guy who calls into the radio show anytime anyone becomes available, and demands his team immediately trade for that person, except they actually do it.

First rounder and other picks for Brown? No biggie.

First rounders for Frank Clark? Even better.

First rounders for Pat Mahomes? To be expected.

Getting Le’Veon Bell? Duh, of course.

Trading for Tyrann Mathieu? Obviously.

Extend Tyreek and make your QB the highest paid player in history? No problem.

The Chiefs will never ever run out of space.

Exactly, Montucky doesn't seem to get that
He might be a Russian bot, or just a troll idk. Bad bears takes for the most part is his thing in this forum.

Good organizations just get better and better. They realized they couldn’t win with a broken line and due to the injuries to their tackles they traded for a top tier class A left tackle.

the besrs Should be ready to at least pick up either Schwartz or fisher but shitty teams and organizations have to over pay for free agents to come here where’s the chiefs get discounted players all the time.
Hey, are you back to your two professional sports?

I'm confused. Does this mean the tag Robinson and trade him for Brown will now be with KC?

Or step 1 can be getting a really good OL. Problem is Bears have neither.

A good OL and a mediocre QB doesn’t get you very far.

But I agree with your premise. Both are vital.
