i agree, sort of...

saban retired partly due to he saw what was coming in this new era of college football. im not going as far as to say he was scared or anything, but he definitely looked at the landscape of football and decided at his age it was best to just hang it up
Saban, Coach K, Jay Wright, Tony Bennett.

These aren’t guys quitting because they can’t cut it. They are even more appalled at the new college sports landscape than fans are.

Imagine trying to build a program with no assurance a guy will even be around in a year.

Kids are getting paid and sitting out. Hell of a combination.

I can’t just decide not to work.

I heard on the radio broadcast that Bielema was making defensive substitutions and taking their time doing so which they have a right to do, which forced South Carolina to take a time out at the one. They said he learned well under Bill Belichick.

That fuckin’ Shane Beamer was jawing at the refs in the final seconds just because he didn’t like the outcome.
Yeah I missed all of that. Social media was ripping Beamer but I am prepping the house for a party and watching 6 kids at the same time. Just saw some good looking drives led by Altmyer, who is going to be moving up draft boards next year.

They quit because it's a level playing field now. If you think these guys at these large schools weren't paying kids, you lost you're fucking mind. If the NCAA wants money out of college sports, stop profiting off 18-21 yos.

And stop pretending like you can't and don't call a day off work.

But they cant cut it. Saban was used to having a top 5 recruiting class every year and crying that NIL was leveling the playing field.

College sports was always rigged in favor of the blue blood programs. NIL is changing that and some coaches are upset. Tough shit.
