News came on Friday the Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is not the subject of an active criminal investigation.

He was cleared of the broken arm. Not suggesting he is innocent of the other allegations.
I lived in KC for 5 years and actually am quite familiar with the situation.
No, he was not cleared of the broken arm. The prosecutor just chose not to file charges because of a lack of cooperation from mom.
That was one of the longest weeks of my life.
We had 3 boards up in the middle of the room:
“What we know”
“What we don’t know”
“What we can prove”
People who I had trusted, who I had admired and looked up to for a long time, I lost a lot of respect for that week.
We literally had decision-makers in positions of authority arguing against playing it by the book, because the Chiefs mean so much to the community and it’d be bad for everyone.
It was so fucking gross. It was maddening.
I was easily the strongest voice in the room for playing it by the book and just like any other similar situation. Not because I’m so fucking virtuous. But because a child’s well being hung in the balance.
A fucking child.
Someone needed to stick up for that child, and there were an awful lot of people turning the other way because his dad is really good at football.
Absolutely disgusting.
The post I made on here about a criminal DV investigation involving Tyreek Hill and a child was the first trace on the internet anywhere of the situation. I was really frustrated. I had an email draft written up with docs included from a burner account ready to hit send to ESPN, Fox Sports, Deadspin (when it was still a big deal) and the like. Even though I know that could potentially get traced back to me and **** up my profession, I was willing to do it, because, again, a child’s well being was at stake.
I like you, Remy. I agree with a lot of your stuff. But you have no fucking idea what you’re talking about on the Tyreek Hill stuff. The Chiefs are pieces of shit. The people who protect them are pieces of shit, and the locker room is full of criminals, including the coaching staff. The end.
