Didn't you just get your HC from the Lions?
yeah they did, but Gibbs, St Brown, Williams, Sewell, and Hutchinson are still in Detroit, not to mention Branch, Joseph and Montgomery

You do realize Ben Johnson had a top 5 offense without Gibbs, Williams, LaPorta and Monty right? I mean that group in 2022 had less weapons than the Bears do right now.

Injuries derailed them. don't think it had anything to do with their seeding. Expecting them to finish 15-2 is lofty expectations for any team.
Injuries on defense caused 5 turnovers from the offense and 4 INTs from your QB?

when Ben Johnson left, did he take the playbook with him and mind zap all the Lions players and coaches?
Yes, Johnson does take the playbook with him. Morton will have his way of doing and seeing things which will be different than the way Johnson did them and based on what Johnson said about how Campbell operates, Morton will be empowered to do things the way he sees fit. Johnson was the most highly sought after head coaching candidate for a reason while Morton has only been OC in the NFL before for one year at 56 years old. You can't pretend like that won't potentially have a big impact.

Got news for CCS, you can't implement Ben Johnson's game plan without a good O-line, and a QB that makes quick decisions. As of this moment, you have neither.
Johnson is regarded for tailoring his offense around what his players do well, not just dropping some system on any group of players. And yes, we know the O-line needs to get better and have lots of resources to address it. We'll see if the moves work out.

Your Defense is just as likely to take a step back, as it is to improve.
How do you figure? Sweat was battling a calf injury all year and all the key players on defense are either in their prime or entering their prime, and we replaced one good defensive coordinator (Eberflus) for another (Allen). We also have the resources to make some upgrades there as well. It's hard to see them be significantly worse, barring injuries of course.

And you seem to think the Bears offense will just instantly learn a new O?
I think Johnson's offense with requisite upgrades on the O-line will be a hell of a lot better than the shitshow we had last year, yes.

Bears are just as likely to finish last again, as the Lions are to regress.
For sure. The Bears are the favorites to finish last again until they show otherwise.

Edit to add: I think the Vikings showed that they were paper tigers, as always. I don't think the Packers are that great and I think the Lions will fall off a bit. But even then, all three still figure to be good/very good teams and the Bears have some catching up to do.

LMAO at CCS. Lions went 15-2 while missing more than half their starting defense last year. All they need to do to improve is to get healthy and sustain a normal amount of injuries throughout the season. Two rookie Cb's that will improve, Hutch back, Davis back, Mcneil back, Barnes back. Possibly a FA or trade addition to the Defense ( Crosby come on down), and they will once again be in the top 4 SB contenders.

Congrats to the Lions for taking part in the regular season and playoffs. Feel free to stop by the League Office to collect your cookies.

less weapons, but the nearly same OL with Zeitler being the only difference, and Jamal Williams was better than any of the bears running backs, and they also had St Brown, Hockenson, Chark, Raymond and Reynolds, so while not as good as the bears it was still a solid unit, so all you you have to do is get a decent running back a better TE, and replace 3 spots on your OL with 3 all pros and your good to go

Yes, coaches don't ever put players in the best position to succeed or have anything to do with them exploiting an opposing team.
didn't say that, but numerous coaches have taken promotions and have failed, most likely because they don't have the same cast to work with, however I'm not surprised that you don't get that
