Easy O.T. solution

Each team gets atleast one possession. If team A gets the ball and scores a TD or a FG they kick off to team B. If team B does not score it is game over. If neither team scores on its first possession the first team that scores wins. If team A turns the ball over on the kick off and team B scores after the turnover the game is over. Same on a punt return. OT problem solved.

So the rule should be changed because Erin Fraudgers deserves another chance since he is a star? So if it were Carson Palmer then the rules would be fine I guess.

Exactly. If the blown call on the Hail Mary would have happened to Jacksonville, no one would have cared.

Why do both teams need to get possession to start OT? They just got done playing for an hour with the score tied. At some point one team is going to get a chance to score without the other team getting a chance on offense, even in your "perfect" system. You're just delaying the inevitable.

The rules should be the best regardless of which players or teams have or have not benefited from them. Is that a difficult concept to grasp?

Agreed 100% BUT this is only a discussion because it happened to Aaron Rodgers. There are only a few QB's who have the ability to create this media narrative. If this had happened to 25-27 other QB's in the NFL we aren't even having this discussion.

funny, then you're back to the current overtime rules. here let's waste 10 more minutes of everyone's time and thennnnnnnnnn do sudden death.

Just put 15 minutes on the clock and most points wins. IF still a tie, put another 15 minutes on the clock. Its not like they have played a regular OT before.

What if the guy who gets shot doesn't have a chance to fire his pistol though? The only fair way is for them to both be shot and see which one outlives the other.

Sudden death doesn't start until they've both had an opportunity to have been shot.

If McCarthy had a pair, they could have gone for 2 and the win after the Hail Mary....his fault they lost, period.

Take a page from soccer...instead of possessions, start going for 2 point conversions. Start at the 3 and for 5 consecutive attempts, move back 5 yards. Penalty kicks on steroids...

I am saying just play the entire additional 15 minutes of over-time until one team outscores the other in the OT.

There are real injury concerns with playing a potentially endless amount of football.

Okay. Then after 15 minutes of OT, go to the college rules. This is a lot of fuss about a thing which rarely occurs.
