It is a good idea but we want to change after the Hawks game - shed the Hawks jersey and put on the Bears jersey. Can't really do that if we're taking trains all over.

Jesus Christ. Why did you even make this thread? All you've been looking for is reasons to justify not going. Is this thread just to try to clear your conscious for wussing out? It's always something.

Fluffy, I'm not trying to be a ***** or anything, but do you have any idea how many people would love for that to be their biggest problem in life? Count your blessings and roll with it.

The 1/23 game is a moot point if the Bears and Green Bay don't both win this coming Sunday. Otherwise there is no Bears game at home on 1/23. But I really want that matchup.

I'm strangely thinking that wearing a Bears jersey underneath a Hawks sweatshirt may be kosher during that game, but that's just me. However, if you don't and if it were me, I still likely wouldn't...

You COULD essentially go back to the car earlier using my Millenium Park method and go north to Lake station to walk to the lot to change (You parked up top, remember? So, with that in mind, logically, you wouldn't have to go too far down the elevator...)
<
and hardly anyone will be on the train heading north from Jackson Red Line...

After you leave the car, walk to Randolph/Wabash Station on the Green Line and take that instead to Roosevelt... cause as we know, the Millenium taxi to Soldier Field is going to be hell... OR you could still wait for it. You may need to leave the Hawks game earlier, but it still can be done.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I have a different dilemma.

I won't be getting home until around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

Do I listen to the Hawks on the radio live and finish watching the game when I get home or do I DVR both games, watch the Hawks game, and then watch the recording of the Bears game until I catch up to the live action?

I can likely avoid getting a scoring update of the Hawks game, so in reality I could enjoy both games as if I were watching them live.

A very capital idea really. And a massive time saver when hoping between games.

I'll make this blunt. I hate traffic. Plain and simple. If I have options to avoid it, I will.... and in this case, I do. It's not just capital, it's also a major time saver and it also gets you a decent workout, where you only need to rely on yourself and not on other cars to move. I'd rather rely on my own judgment than deal with other cars in a situation like this.

You see, the way I leave and go to Hawks games is as it always has been --- the Blue Line. No one takes it when they get to the game. No one takes it when they leave.

Madison is always a nightmare for both busses and cars, as is Damen.... So I have option #3, and what an option it is! And for the almost four years I've been here, its never failed, even during last season.

So you have to walk down to the Eisenhower, big deal! For an average guy like me walking there, it takes around 5-10 mins to get from the UC to the Blue Line via the station entrance on Ogden... (The one on Damen takes longer to get to. I timed it... It's around a 2-3 min difference, but that 2-3 mins makes a difference between catching the train and waiting for it.)

It's my best kept secret in this city and it's never failed!

No doubt. The El is highly underrated at times for the speed at which you can get around the city.

Me personally, I listen to the game and finish it up at home. I have had 0 success in my team winning when I watch on DVR. Also, I have had a couple of times when the recording cut off a game that went to OT and I forgot to record the stuff after it. I've given up. Even if the teams are playing at the same time I'd rather flip. And even when I didn't someone always ruined the game for me by either telling me the outcome, or pretending like they looked it up.

If there is to be a bashing then I shall join you.

I have also given up my Hawks tix for the game but am planning to see most of the Hawks

game in the United Club prior to the Bears game.

I think I would almost make fun of people for not giving up the hawks tickets.

What ticks me off is that I have saved a Flyers tshirt and rally towel from Game 4 that I was

going to have some fun with at pregame skate.

I had that idea too, but I gave mine to some young flyers fan at game 6.

On a side note they say the price for tickets to the game this weekend are way down. Gold Coast showed tickets that were going for 650, and he will now sell them for 300. So anyone wanting to really go I'll bet Sunday morning there will be a ton of tickets available for GREAT prices.

I'll chose hockey and watch the rest of the Bears on my WARM couch!
