I don't this would work out for the bears in short term for like a couple years. With draft picks taken away and Watsons salary cap hit bears would be rebuilding with him at QB for a couple years.

At first, I thought Mack was worth the two 1st round picks and the salary. Now, not so much.

It would be the same for Watson. Lots of Draft capital and 160 million dollar salary.

It's amazing to me just how narrow the view can be sometimes. I especially love this quote from the article:

Now, obviously, we can’t definitely say Watson’s tweet is in relation to the reported hiring of Caserio. But it’s certainly fair to speculate that it could be.

It's funny how the speculation automatically goes to what is happening in the Texans organization, and not, ya know, the results of Kenosha District Attorney's press conference yesterday.

Yep, agree, they would be giving up too much to get him and strapped for cash because of the huge contract. That will mean no building of a top shelf O line, which is what they need. All we will get is a good QB running for his life, similar to what we see now with shitty QBs running for their lives.

Not to turn this thread into BandI, but people are speculating this is regarding the Jacob Blake ruling that the officer who shot him 7 times wouldn't be charged

Makes sense thats what he is talking about

Just a pipe dream I had about him wanting out. Now if you will excuse me, I will go find my crack pipe

But to your point - Bears should sell the farm for him
Well let’s keep some bacon producers please. DeShaun is a great quarterback when he has a supporting cast....it should the last couple years.

How much more of ass would that make Pace and the Bears org look. Pass up on him, don't even give him a second thought, trade UP to pick Mitch who busts, trade away future draft capitol for Mack hoping Mitch doesn't bust.. only to come full circle and give away the farm to pick the guy they should have picked in the first place.

Grade A circus at Halas Hall.

Never thought about it like this lol but yeah that'd look bad but not as bad as doubling down on Mitch for a couple more years. Either way, it's a pipe dream. Houston would be fools to trade Watson.

Caserio will want 2 firsts + extra. Houston fans would lose their minds, again. Bears fans go 4 years straight with no plans on draft night.

I don't think it would make him look like an ass at all. Before he got drafted nobody knew what he would be and if he could stay healthy, which he mostly has, but now he's shown what he can be which is a franchise QB, so i think trading for him would be a very smart move if what we'd give up in return would work and we could give him a offense to work with while still keeping a good enough defense to keep us in games.

Then, after all that, Watson would tear up his knee in a non-contact drill and everyone would bitch about how they should never have invested in a player with his injury history. The offense would fall apart but the defense would play well and the Bears would finish 8-8.
