There's also the problem with using Rodgers and Wilson as current measuring sticks. The Fields zealots have basically said that they are done and now suck. Just makes it a low bar.

Fields is walking into a great situation with a young fixed OL, competent WR pair and VG RB and coaching. Hope the scheme fits and he gives us lots of highlights. Fun guy to watch when it's working.

Wilson is a top 5 WR talent IMO, the only dudes I'd certainly take over him are:

Jefferson
Lamb
Chase
Brown

Hill, Puca, Thomas Jr, St Brown and Nico Collins are all right there.

Yup, no excuses, just like CW outside of reps.

Curious to know who admits they were 100 wrong about Fields. 3 teams in 3 years and now’s he’s on a worst roster than Chicago.

Remember the debate about him 2 years ago?

I was for the haul, won't say im wrong yet as caleb right now doesnt look very good either.

If caleb looks like the #1 pick then i'm clearly wrong, but you could have built a great team around fields and make him your jalen hurts.

Could have also gotten the haul and still taken jj mcfarty, bo nix, or penis jr.

Most people who were for the haul didnt want to risk drafting another qb as any of them can bust.

They don't want to talk about it or have moved on.

lol, the Jets have some really nice top end talent. Like you're not going to find too many better young, top end players at premier positions than the Jets.

Exactly, the jets have a solid team

Rodgers tanked that team into the ground just like he will for the steelers. He now has a worse run game, considerably worse OL, arguably worse weapons, worse OC. The defense I guess was better last year but is a year older and traded for an old DB too. Even last year the jets had a higher pressure rate and more sacks while giving up the 3rd lowest Yards/play.

They had shitty Ts last year and Rodgers wasn't himself until later in the year. They also dumped their HC after 5 games. Bad Ts and an old QB coming off an achilleas is not a formula for success. They sat their #11 pick heir apparent LT early last year (Started 7 games)and drafted their RT #7 this year. Should help a lot.

I suspect we won't get great passing #s from JF and a run heavy ball control O. Should work well with a Glenn D. If Fields can start throwing more inside slants, and curls etc. this could go very well.

First year play caller for the jets I believe? Honest question - how confident is everybody in Engstrand? That seems like a big part of the equation any player but especially for a QB like JF.

Getsy looked like a semi competent OC with a heavy rushing attack and Fields at QB.

He went to Vegas and had the worst rushing attack in the NFL by far (they had terrible running backs to be fair and Aiden O'Connell is far from JF but they fucking sucked).

If you have an awesome offensive line, a couple of talented running backs and a dynamic rushing QB and a head coach who wants to run the damn ball - it's pretty simple compared to trying to have a heavy passing attack with any weaknesses at QB, OL or WR. That roster is built to run and has a freaking ton of talent to exercise that gameplan.

This video is a good summation of how I see the game:

Name & Avatar bet.

Rodgers is completely washed and without a doubt a team cancer. Jets will have more wins than the Steelers.
Season win totals have been up for months

Jets 5.5
Steelers 8.5

You (and run and shit) should tell vegas bookmakers how off they are.

Oh.....

And their MVP odds are also off

Rodgers 63-1
RB1 265-1

Jeez....when did the 2025 Jets become a thing?

For all the nuthuggers in here with the:

"solid team" ; "high end talent", "top 3 rush attack", "great defense" talk....

you'd think they're one of the super bowl favorites instead of being tagged with the lowest win total in the NFL (along with giants, clowns, titans) and the 4th longest shot to win the super bowl

Their odds are low because they were awful last year, in large part thanks to rodgers.

If you look at the team on paper they are solid, I dont think either make the playoffs but if I were to bet one the 5.5 over on the jets seems like a solid bet.

I think rodgers is going to be the cancer for the steelers just like he was for the jets. Guy is going to get tomlin fired.

The jets at least look to have a solid OL now, so should have a good run game with fields at QB and breece hall at RB. You pair that with an above average defense and you get more than 5 wins

Truthfully both of these qb's are not good, but rodgers is washed. All advanced metrics prove that. He was worse than fields in a lot of metrics last year:

Rodgers was worse in epa/play, success rate, average yards per target, CPOE.

People look at his yardage and td's and think he had a good year, but it was trash stats. He truthfully was a large reason that team sucked last year and will likely be a large reason the steelers do too

Their odds being low has nothing to do with last year (why is sf one of the favs this year, they stunk last year) and everything to do with what the market thinks of their roster (and schedule/opponents) this year.

The one positive they have going for them to exceed their 5.5 win total is the afc east isn't a strong division after Buffalo....however the jets look to be the clear choice for last place.

C'mon, preseason odds always are off what happened last year

That roster is not bad. Fields may not be an NFL passer but that doesnt change the fact they have a pretty solid roster that was hampered by terrible qb play and a poor oline.

Now rodgers will have a worse oline, worse run game, and what i think will be a worse defense. That jets D is going to be pretty damn good this year imo.
