Funny I have at least three on my FB feed right now. People are gullible. They don't stop to think. They go with what's there in print. Don't step outside the box. Pretty ignorant. I guess Kane should know this and NEVER leave the house other than Hockey.

I have a bunch of pictures of New Years with some of the hawks. Funny I didn't see any of those making the rounds. Interesting because it was Skille, Toews and Stahlberg. Yet when Kaner is involved, oops here it comes. Shame there is a double standard but hey, the media is partly to blame just as much as Pat for ever being 22 and going out to have a good time. **** they weren't playing a game for THREE DAYS! No where in that article does it say that anywhere. Why, because then it blows their theory. Now if that was the NIGHT BEFORE a game, yes then you'd have a problem. For the most part ALL of the Hawks are pretty good with Pre game night to my understanding.

and Pat is no different than ANY other of the hawks. He just garners MORE attention because with him it's a story. It's a way to bring the entity running with it noteriety IMO.

If it was the night before the game then he would be just livin' in old skool hockey...which means he probably smokes too.

So here's what I do if I am Kane's parents, agent, coach. You sit him down. You tell him that you know the truth about the 2 day illness, but what you need to discuss is going forward, how to maintain a positive reputation. Lots of kids his age party, but not everyone is under a microscope like he is.

Everyone with a cell phone has a camera now, so you make sure that people are not able to take any pictures of you that can be misinterpreted. (Lot's of celebrities are able to do this, so it's not impractical to suggest he do this).

He limits himself to 3 drinks during the course of the evening or less. There is then no question of his sobriety.

Carefully select the people you surround yourself with. They have to have your back, and in some cases, make sure they block cameras from being able to take your picture. It's easy to stand in front of the shot.

He has a little bit of PR work to do, but if the McMonkey is behind him, it shouldn't be hard to clean up the reputation some people are trying to smear. He is the marketing genius after all.

Pretty much this.

Really, the bigger story here isn't the alcohol. It's that god awful sweater thing he was wearing.

I Agree with you Phranchk, that's the first thing that came to my mind.

It looks like a ladies sweater. Now that's opening a can of worms....

Haha... Wow, that sweater is fucking AWFUL. The big question here is, who are the friends that let him walk out of the house wearing that? Jesus.

I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about shit like this. It happens with a lot of celebrities and athletes. Especially those that make themselves easy targets. What I don't understand is, why doesn't Kaner just party at his place? Why go out to bars and make yourself a target? He knows people are looking for him and he knows the "media" loves to make stories out of nothing. I honestly think he enjoys all the attention, whether it be positive or negative. No other reason to continue to put yourself into situations like that.

Funny I was just gonna say the bigger story is definitely the number of V-neck shirts he's wearing.

I can see why Kane has this attention brought on him, I agree there's nothing to be really alarmed at here, he's 22 he went out for some drinks I'm sure he wasn't the only hawk player that did this weekend. Kane just has to be careful because of his history, even though we still don't know exactly what happened that night in Buffalo that is something that is gonna follow him his whole life unfortunately. I think that's why this is a big deal to some morons, they look at his history and assume the wrong things.

Postgame Rogers tweet -- "Kane addressed deadspin. Said he was sick"

Kuc tweet -- Kane saying "You get two days off and you're sick and people are going to make up things."

I read the Dylan Olsen thread then came directly to this thread. I'm not sure why but I find this post remarkably funny......maybe it's the last sentence.

First of all, I like his little cardy. Secondly, those pictures have been proven to be old and the article a fabrication.

That being said, all of these guys party, as well they should. Looks and sounds like fun to me...

Maybe everyone that is so upset about this has missed the fact that Kane just had his 4th multi-point game of February? deadspin... GFY.

Celebrating what? A miserable season?

Just being normal 20-something kids... sometimes a beer is just what you need. I guess I don't hold professional hockey players to a higher moral compass than that which I expect of myself. I have seen the team out and about in the city and they all go out and have fun... and I hope they enjoy their youth and their time together as friends and as a team.

If (and I'm speaking in general NOT about Kane specifically) one of the Hawks had a problem about which the team should be concerned, I guess I look at it like it's the business of that Hawk, the team, his family, etc., and really no business of my own.

As something you would wear, right? That is an absolutely terrible sweater for a guy to be wearing. It screams "I'm a ******".

Btw, why does a 22 year old have to be celebrating something to go out and cut loose, and have a few drinks?

LOL - I think it's hilarious. Come on Pez, you've got enough swag to put on a little cardy too.

Exactly.
