You didn't answer my question.

Why did the Blackhawks lose to the Coyotes?

I don't believe it was because of lack of talent.

That's why I say they were sleepwalking...the Coyotes should have never forced the Blackhawks to that many OTs.

Yotes scored more goals than the Hawks & stuffz. :troll:

That's pretty much it... our offense played way better than theirs, and our defense allowed way less shots than theirs, it came down to Mike Smith being really good and the Coyotes being hot at the time.

If they were sleepwalking we wouldn't have almost doubled them in shots night in and night out.

That is just a terrible argument, and I'm not exactly a hockey expert either.

because phx was better? :dunno:

I'd argue that we were the better team in that series though... can anybody find the series statlines? We definitely outshot them by a lot, held a majority of the possession, etc.

We got more shots, allowed less shots, Crawford just couldn't outduel Smith (who was a fucking beast... like Geovany Soto :troll:).

But yes, I agree that we simply got beat, doesn't mean we were "sleepwalking"... I guess 15 teams sleepwalk a playoff series every year, huh fisch?

SOG is meaningless - the only thing that matters is goals.

So if you get 60 shots on goal, and your score just 2, and your opponent gets 12, and scores 3, were you really outplayed or did your defense have just a couple lapses is a long game/goalie sucked.

Obviously goals are what matter, but to act like the Hawks were not attacking and just going through the motions - "sleepwalking" - is ridiculous given the statlines.

However, you can have a good offensive game and the goalie is just unbeatable, stealing games... doesn't mean your entire team played like shit and didn't care or didn't put in enough effort being the reason you lost like the great and glorious nwfisch is implying.

Unfortunately. :(

I still think the Blackhawks have more talent than the Coyotes and should have won this series. :dunno:

And Jntg, I'm sorry I have higher standards for the Blackhawks than first round exits. This team is better than that. It's amazing how hard it is for people to say they're not satisfied with their team.

SOG doesnt mean shit!!!!! Quality shots vs non quality shots. What kind of shots did the hawks shoot...a lot of non quality shots. Sure Smith made some saves but the hawks did not put up quality shots to lead to quality scoring chances. Also the yotes were more balanced and had a better goalie which helped. The fact that fans cant admit that a team was better and argue a series is just stupid.

Maybe they aren't. Core has become very overrated along with the sieves in net & no consistent depth scoring.

Also pissing away money on shit like Oduya. Good chance they don't make the playoffs next season.

I don't think that reality is that far off.

It's still too early in the offseason to say, but right now I'd say there's a 25% they miss the playoffs.

Saying umm could happen and it might not shock you is far off from GOOD CHANCE.

It's a team that is likely to return talent that was good enough to be a 1st place team or near so for a good while when they still were playing far worse than most felt they could of been if they were clicking. Aside from Hossa or Montador, no player on the team should be topping off skill wise while most are still young enough to be getting better with another year. Plus it should no longer have the old or worthless bodies like Odonnel, Brunnette, and Scott.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner.

Nice to see that some people around here take the time to read just one sentence.

Of course it could happen...good chance? No.

Goaltending- bad
defense- avg at best (no depth)
Top 6- too many question marks: hossas health, PK coming back to form, stalberg repeating his numbers, along without a regression from sharp. no 2nd line center (and dont trust bowman to get a real one)
3rd line- avg
4th- should be ok

Yes really. Take the homer glasses off.

Take the hater glasses off.

Saying there is a good chance that the Blackhawks will miss the playoffs next year is just ridiculous. Sure it could happen but there is a much better chance that the Blackhawks will make the playoffs, not miss them.

Congrats, you won an argument over semantics.

Anything to defend the almighty Hawks I guess.
