Ding ding ding! We have a winner.

Nice to see that some people around here take the time to read just one sentence.

Of course it could happen...good chance? No.

ding ding. thats funny. too bad mods have rules now or you know where i would be going with this.

and yes there is a "good chance" they miss the playoffs. As of now with no moves made and if bowman stands pat, yes there is a "good chance" they dont make the playoffs.

Congrats, you won an argument over semantics.

Anything to defend the almighty Hawks I guess.

Because it sort of really matters...

Big difference between "it could happen" and "there is a good chance". A real big difference.

There is a good chance Stalberg will put up 80 points next year. Pretty dumb statement, could happen but there is a damn good chance that it won't.

The route of childish tactics?

Right now there is a good chance that the Blackhawks make the playoffs. Sure there is the possibility that they don't, but that goes for the Wings too if they stand pat.

It doesn't matter.

Since you didn't answer before, I'll ask again.

Is there anything the Blackhawks do wrong?

Of course it matters because there is a huge difference in the statements.

No shit they do, why does that matter in this argument? What does this have to do with the Blackhawks doing something wrong? The statement was that there is a "good chance" that the Blackhawks miss the playoffs, which is a pretty inaccurate statement in my eyes.

EDIT: By the way, the bolded part..you never asked. So to attempt to call me out for skipping a question is pretty dumb.

You got upset when it was acknowledged that there is a "good chance" the Blackhawks could miss the playoffs. I think its greater than just a possibility that they miss the playoffs.

Can you name one thing the Blackhawks have done that you've disagreed with?

Not one bit. Not even close.

I just don't freak out like an idiot over every single move or breath by a player.

Goaltending- bad
defense- avg at best (no depth)
Top 6- too many question marks: hossas health, PK coming back to form, stalberg repeating his numbers, along without a regression from sharp. no 2nd line center (and dont trust bowman to get a real one)
3rd line- avg
4th- should be ok

Indeed all problems they have had the last two years. None of those issues alone or complied together were an issue last year. The onlything worse is Hossa's health but Toews missed a significant portion last year... You could nitpick a possible regression by him or Sharp but anticipate you could have a point reassurance by Kane by the same odds.

You have to say it's good odds that they would have less points than 7 teams in the West, several of those teams have been bad for some years for whichever various reasons, all similar and many worse than you're listed items.

To miss the playoffs they would of had to be 11 points lighter last year... I don't think there is a good chance at all the team that can be built similar yet better than last years team has a good chance to be 10 points lighter.

I and others have asked in other threads.

So to just admit that your team does no wrong is pretty dumb.

I got upset? I disagreed with the statement. Saying the Blackhawks have a good chance to miss the playoffs is pretty stupid. They had over 100 points last year, haven't lost anyone important to free agency, and still have the entire off season. Anything can happen, but a good chance? Nah.

I've disagreed with plenty of moves recently. Kyle Beach and Jack Skille being drafted to start. The signing of John Scott. The Brouwer trade had me torn because it was a good value but the Blackhawks were going to miss him (and did). I've also been wrong plenty of times too...but hell Stefan and Daigle were drafted first overall at one point too.

Damn, so much hate for a good team. HawkWriter isn't being a homer, w have at least a 90% chance of making it, I wouldn't call 10% a good chance.

Even without impact moves, we put out the same team as last year plus Carcillo and we are still a 7th seed at least unless everything goes wrong.

However, that is also dependent on the off-season and we have yet to reach the draft or free agency, so everybody just chill.

Maybe HawkWriter can be homerish at times, but I don't think "good chance" is proper terminology here. DewsSox79 and Capt. Serious, stop the excessive hating, it is almost as annoying as threads I make. Nwfisch, I'm not sure if you are serious or trolling, since you purposely say stupid shit all the time. Jntg4, you're an idiot, so shut up.

well its not excessive hating. Its called being realistic. Again, if they dont make any impact moves this offseason there is a good chance they dont make playoffs.....if you want to believe otherwise.....fine by me.

The best chance we have of not making it will be determined on December 21st... if we are still alive at the end of the day, then we have pretty solid chance of making it, if not then we won't make it.

Seriously though, name 8 better teams in our conference.

That hasn't been answered because they would need to quantify their claim to a set point. They'll either have to acknowledge to use that term is absurd or use "good" very liberally.

Every one of the nitpick points that have been brought up about the teams issues were the same as last year or "so and so" may do worse fears which are pointless when a "realist" would actually acknowledge players will also have better years than last year as well. That's the natural occurrence.
