And the closest thing we have to Paul McCartney is Billy Corgan.

Ok Poo-Poo Pants. Let me say it this way , yes ok there is some merit in what your saying. However Elton John does ( tweek ) the words to fit into how he wants his music to come out.
B Taupin writes alot of the lyrics, but Elton John tweeks the words to fit into his style.
Are you really that fucking stupid? For real? You do know neither did Mozart?
Let's see......I have been a hardcore Elton fan since 1969 and have read hundreds of articles about him and his songwritting process over the last 50 years. He did virtually no writing and very little tweaking of the words. Most of the music was written in a few minutes. THat's the genius of Elton John, not his writing skills. IdiotOk Poo-Poo Pants. The fact that the OP is comparing the complexities of writing a concerto for a full orchestra to that of writing a catchy little melody for a three-four piece band (bubble gum pop none the less) is laughable at best. Paul McCartney is much closer to Charlie Harper than he is Mozart.

Prince was the closest thing we had to Mozart.
