Maybe. But While My Guitar Gently Weeps is their best song. Immensely haunting, layered, best guitar.

Let us take a quick look at Mozart. Began performing musically at a very young age. Born to a large family whose father taught all his children and even toured the country with them for performances at various venues. By the time he was in his teenage years...it was obvious he was the most talented and popular of the bunch. Had a very successful genre-defying music career that was often marred by controversy and financial pitfalls. Died rather young for his day.

Sounds a lot more like Micheal Jackson than Paul McCartney to me.

Clapton and Harrison are guitar geniuses! As really one of my favorite Beatles songs is While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

One of the most apt observations about Clapton that I've ever heard: "when he runs out of ideas, he just changes register and carries on." Now, some may take that as a knock, but it really isn't; it's a tool that that was the go-to in the high baroque. Half of what Bach wrote is him just dicking around with the same idea in various registers.

Note: ever wonder why, at the end of large scale multi-movement works, the composer always repeats the coda in different registers? He's "closing out" progressions in those registers that hadn't been finalized in the previous movements.

Similarly: You may not remember that Beethoven's "Pathetique" sonata had exactly the same bass-line in MVMT 3 as the soprano from the intro to MVMT 1...but you sure as shit should believe that he was exploiting the connection.

Heinrich Schenker was a god (side note)

Smart music carries over regardless of genre.

McCartney was the lesser talent of the Beatles.....since then he has brought us gems like Ebony and Ivory, Say Say Say, and Wonderful Christmastime.

He is the Hallmark Channel of rock and roll.........

Yep, and that was a knock John had on Paul which prompted Paul to write Silly Love Songs.

I like a lot of groups in concert more so than their music......there are talented people who can play technically well and put on a great show. Kid Rock is the most entertaining concert I have seen and I don't like his music. However, it needs to go beyond a concert performance. McCartney has brought absolutely nothing to the table musically, never innovated, never pushed the envelope, never even copied people who pushed the envelope....after the Beatles he is barely an afterthought in the music world......he owes everything to Lennon.

Phil Collins never wanted to sing, he just wanted to bang on his drums.

Really?!?

I worked at a Kid Rock show a couple of years after he blew up. The entire performance was dubbed. Seriously, no effort...the guitars on stage were not even plugged in.

I cannot say for sure if that was a one off thing or a regular thing or if it is still even a thing, but I can say without a doubt that night was a dubbed show.

You do that for television...not for thousands of peeps that paid for a live performance.
