Depth at swing tackle is a legitimate concern, but you're putting the cart before the horse when we're not in camp yet and there's a whole lot to shake out before then.

Leno handicapped the line for the last few years. He limited what our offense could do. He was no longer servicable and you don't pay a backup that money. He was legitimately a detriment *every* down in the run game and too often a liability in pass pro. On a soft, ineffective line, he was the prime offender.

Focus first has to be on upgrading at LT and along the rest of the starting line. On paper that looks better right now with developing competition at a few spots like RT. As the offseason progresses, we'll better understand our depth and maybe add a veteran.

Right now, we don't know what we have in Elijah Wilkinson (or the other prospects at T). He was a marginal starter in Denver. That's kind of what you're limited to at that price.

You have more than depth issues, you have legitimate concerns if you even have legit starters on 3 of the 5 O-line positions.

Guard that can't play center that did decent for 5 games at LG before a season ending injury now to play RG
2nd rnd RT and move him to LT
5th round pick at RT
UDFA starting at center
Sprinkle in a few low budget cast-offs from other teams

Eureka! Fixed!!

Lions added more players over the offseason to their D-line than the Bears did to their O-line, so using Bears fan logic that everyone is going to be an all pro..........
Who other than Brockers who the Rams could not wait to get rid of did you add to your shit DLine.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Indiana Hoosiers
I'll take the upgrade over Leno, but won't be surprised to see shuffling again. Leave it to the Bears to draft guys outta postion and expect them to play somewhere else in the pros.

Nothing like counting on square pegs in round holes - it's the Bears way on oline...and it's worked so well.
He may fail, but his position last season was LT until injury forced him to move to RT due to the only viable backup T being a player that was only comfortable at LT at the time. Thing is you know this, but choose to make out like changing him to LT is some completely foreign idea cooked up by Pace and Nagy. What pleasure do you get out of being Negative Nancy, even when you have to so obviously lie to do it?

I'm his defense they added confidence to their DL. I'm sure in practice the Lions DL usually can "sack" Goff since he moves at a newborns speed

Oh he is? Didn't know that was set in stone especially since the bears just drafted a QB in the first round
If Nagy starts Fields day one, he is an even bigger fool than I thought he was.

why do you still post here?

Nothing you say will ever make the lions not suck.

1 win in 64 years, and counting, because this year, nor next year, will be the year.

I don't care if I'm liked or not.

I'm a bears fan who posts on a bears forum. Not a lions fan posting on a bears forum.

You have 10k posts all trying to tell us how "not bad" the lions are.

There are fans of other teams on here. None of them are delusional to the level you are.

Once again, 1 playoff win in 64 years. Thats a long long time.

Lie?

How many franchises do you think would have no LT, draft a solid future franchise QB prospect, and only back him up with a rookie OT who's only played 9 games at LT?

And try to sell that shit to your fans? Not 9 starts at LT his senior season - nine starts over 3 years - AND HE ALWAYS GOT MOVED BACK TO RT.

You got to be effing kidding me you don't see a potential problem.

Seems like a weird POV when your team took a LT at #7 overall, moved him to RT and he's struggling. But thanks for your opinion.

I don’t even know who the Lions HC is. That’s how much I don’t care about the Lions. Thank you for taking a liking to the Chicago Bears.

You realize Goff is your starting QB right? I would take Dalton with Mooney and ARob any day over Goff and whoever the Lions trot out at Wr.

It's okay, dude. Not everyone can adjust to the NFL, swap positions to the opposite side of the line, and look totally in command while doing it.

Don't know what the hell you are bragging about with Lions OL. In 2020 over 16 games it was as shitty as Bears if not more so. What is the offensive lines job.........protect the QB and open holes in the running game. If that is the bottom line, Lions sucked at it in 2020 with 42 sacks and 30th in rush offense. Bears were not much better with giving up 36 sacks and and 25th in rush offense, but they were better.
