Castro with the knock. Nate having to stop for the ball cost us another one but good shit still.

Didn't watch the whole game, but excessive praise of the Cubs opponent is common, talking about a team that is playing 3000 miles away occurs regularly, as well as random tangents about guitars, hot dogs, things in the 80s etc.

Outside of the Cubs, do you watch any "local" baseball telecasts? Srs question.

Good inning by the Cubbies. One thing I really like early in the season is they appear to be trying to work counts a little more than they have the last cpl years. Probably a combination of Renteria and maturation...but I like it. Love having the opposing pitcher over 70 pitches in the 4th inning.

Wow... don't really see how he wasn't out at the plate...

No challenge! Lol. Must've been the new "don't block the plate" rule?

Was an interesting look on that last replay, where it looked like the catcher took the ball out of his glove momentarily -- but the ump couldn't have seen that.

Yep, I think that's what it is... but the call doesn't even seem to fit with the rule...

Pirates announcers are not pleased... haha... can't blame 'em.

Yeah, ball clearly got there before the player -- but, Baseball <3's upholding the "human element", and that's apparently a judgement call.

Interesting call. We'll see if that run even ends up mattering by the end of the game.

hah, nah, I'd be frustrated if that went against the Cubs.

So - can anyone clarify? Is the catcher supposed to attempt swipe-tags only @ home plate? That's what that call would lead me to believe...or at least have their body out of the way? If that's the case, we'll start seeing more left-handed catchers! lol

Yeah, I really don't know... apparently that's a play that the manager can't review... it's gotta be initiated by the umpires... the question is why didn't the umpires think that was worth reviewing?

Lol, the Pirates announcers are still going.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

I like Hawk and Stone Pony. Hawk doesn't fake anything. He's a homer, and he shows it. I wish Stone Pony never was let go, I grew up with him and Chip Carey.

Was it maybe because Sanchez was standing in front of the plate while the ball was on the way? My only assumption as to why they called Castro safe.
