That makes 11 HRs on the year for Castro. Should end the year with 15+. The power seems to be developing like Hendry and others suggested it would. I am surprised, but if he fills out then he might be a 20+ HR guy at his peak. If he can do that and combine it with .300 AVG that is a pretty special player, epseically in the middle infield.

Kind of what I've been expecting. .300 hitter with 20-20, maybe 20-30 capabilities. His power, running game, and defense are all developing quite well. Now if only he'd learn to take a few more walks...

Saw replay. It didn't look like a terrible pitch but Marte just golfed it.

I enjoyed good Pirates baseball, and Starling Marte is actual not a draft pick. He is the first Latin America prospect the Pirates signed to make the majors in a decade and half though, and he sure does look like a good one.

I'm glad they found some success there, because their Indian investment certainly didn't pan out

Wood balked in a run. A letter away from what I am used to.

What the balk? Did he touch his cap one too many times?

I suppose it sort of made sense to bat Wood in the fifth since he's probably just as good as any of the pinch-hitting options on the bench anyway

Only Cubs player who has been on base more than once today is Soriano.

Cabrera's stuff appeared to be as good as advertised. Sad as it may be his stuff is probably the best of any one within a year of contributing to the big league club.

He reminds me of Manny Corpas/Jairo Asencio/Roberto Novoa....but this inning he was infinitely better than any of them ever will be

Gameday says Corpas' sinker topped out at 91. He's been throwing tons of sliders.
