He hit 94 with his first fastball and after the second one at 92 he threw nothing but sliders.

Wrigley's radar gun seems a bit hotter than Gameday then :D

Interesting what was Marmol hitting because it is was 94-95 on WGN.

Gameday concurs. Not sure what was up with Corpas but I had a hard time believing he threw that hard coming off major surgery.

No I was saying that about Cabrera throwing that hard. That was my question/point about him looking like Corpas.

Nice to see LaHair with a couple of doubles. Would be nice to see him rebound in the second half.

Didn't catch but the last bit of the 9th inning. Seems that Wood kind of got back on track, 2 ER in 5 IP 3 hits, 3 BB, 6 K. The balk seems a bit odd, but it happens. Got to see Beef Wellington put that 2-run shot into the batter's eye. Nice to see LaHair maybe getting going once more too. At least he ended his 6-game hitless streak. Reading back, I guess Cabrera looked good in his outing. The 0 R 0 H 0 BB 1 IP line certainly looks good. Especially on 10 pitches.

Cabrera was sharp. His slider looked real good, which was the weaker of his two pitches. Didn't get a chance to real see him turn loose the fastball, but it was a nice inning of work.

So...can Cabrera start, or is his ceiling as a reliever?

I sort of answered my own question after reading his stats page, but figured some other input wouldn't hurt :D

Third pitch is the issue with Cabrera from what I've heard. Not sure if he can maintain the plus velocity as a starter either.

Today Cabrera had closer stuff. If he keeps this up, he'll be the closer once Marmol gets the sack for good.....but I'm going off of a 1 inning sample size, so let's wait and see
