I think if we see more of the rough stuff from these Tampa boys on Saturday, we need to set the tone.

I know Shaw bit that dude after he sucker punched Kane last night, but that wasn't nearly enough the retribution these little ******* should have coming to them.

It's like desperation mode for them and I want to see total dominance on Saturday.

Has Toews ever in his career dropped the gloves and taken it to someone?

I think that would be pretty epic and get things really going IMHO.

Also, when's Bickell coming back?

One more thing - when was the last real brawl in the playoffs? ANy in recent history?

To answer your question here's a line brawl from this years cannucks/flames series

As someone said earlier... only the dumbest of teams would do what you are suggesting.
Not happening, kid.
But I feel you.. I love a good fight. Fighting in hockey IS NOT idiotic. I hope they never take it out of the game. T'would be a great tragedy. The playoff hockey fight is a rare treat... They're usually broken up before they can really even get started. You just never want it to be your team making a stupid move that costs you a game, a series.

No, he didn't.

No, it's not.

Not in years.

No, it wouldn't be and it would not.

Quite possibly never.

All your opinion. I know you have a hardon for me but you could ease up a little bit for the sake of civility. You used to be a lot cooler.

This Cup Final actually has two of the least fight-happy teams in the league.

Tampa was 22nd in the league this year with 23 fighting majors. Chicago was second to last (aka 29th) with 15. Detroit in last with 8.

You realize you can get game misconduct penalties for breaking rules during a fight right?

Great way for him to lead. By not being eligible to play.

Fighting in hockey is stupid and accomplishes nothing.

LOL! Breaking the rules in a fight.

You know that fighting itself is breaking the rules, right?

Not really, those are mostly true things. Bicks might be concussed so who knows if he will come back.

This was Toew's last fight, something peeved him about Thorton but Johnny then got pretty whooped.

Fighting in hockey IS NOT idiotic.
It absolutely is. It's idiotic and pointless.

If it's such a great strategy and so smart why when the games matter the most does no one do it?

OMG, How did these teams win games w/o fighting?!?!?

Yes, the NHL has rules for in a fight..........

Fighting itself being against the rules doesn't mean there aren't rules for the fight itself..(which there are)

Yet another reason why Toews should probably never ever fight: he sucks at it. That particular scrap was the result of a years-long feud he's had with Thornton and Toews finally snapped and decided to drop 'em.

How'd your cousin get out of the crowd and onto the ice to fight Eager? :troll:

Lol.... well let's be honest.... it was like an OHL or UHL game.... not like NHL security....

But fer srs 2 of my cousins played in those minor leagues under the AHL for like 5-6 years... they gave it up once they hit their late 20s and realized they could never make it up to the AHL even.

The one who fought Ben Eager said he got to partner with Duncan Keith for a short period of time in Keith's minor league days....

Fun fact, my cousin fought Ben Eager once when Eager was playing in one of the minor leagues under the AHL.

Is your cousin Pez?
Because I hear Pez won.

Toews has 2-3 total fighting majors. I know the number is low. The last was a tilt with Jumbo Joe (SJ).

well obviously I don't know Toew's fighting history per the original post. So if not Toews, who should be the guy to get the team rallied if they need to get a fight going?

How long have you been watching hockey? There are countless examples of fighting in hockey being a game changer... especially when there were goons on every team. good shit.

I'm indifferent about fighting in the NHL.
If it goes away, fine.
I want the goons like Cooke out of the league that end careers of players 10x better than they are.

I heard in 2009 that Kris Versteeg trains kickboxing in the offseason.... since then I have always wondered if he might attempt the first on-ice head kick KO.

Then why when the games matter the most does it go away almost completely?

Shouldn't the Stanley Cup Finals be FULL of fights with guys trying to "change the game" for their team?

Sorry, you can't argue that fighting is important to the game of hockey when at the times when the games matter the most...fighting is virtually non-existent.

Co-signed.

The staged fights are the ones that are particularly fucking stupid, IMO. But when two players decide to drop the gloves because something happens in a game that spontaneously makes them decide to punch each other in the face? Don't mind those at all.

The dummy that dances the Irish jig during the commercial break.

Was headbutting a part of that training?
